HOW do big rig drivers do it?

I think Cableguy gave a pretty good description of the t/t driver we're all talking about. If your doing 10 mph faster than the flow of traffic on bad roads, your fooling yourself and risking your life along with everyone else's. You can't take it back once the bodies are pulled out.

    OTR to Expediter??

It's a fact of life in this business. Ain't gonna happen in expedite. Very much so... we hurry and wait...then hurry up. That's what we do. Many do...but probably not the money your looking for. Doubtful. Some may, but most don't. Your chances would be better in a Straight truck and even...

http://www.expeditersonline.com/forum/general-expediter-forum/37215-landstar-purchase-nlm.html Here is a link discussing the original buyout. Somebody did mention some re-organization or something. Not sure how they could re-buy 'em though.

    Help With Plywood Floor

What problem are you speaking of that the Sprinter would eliminate? There are 2 reasons that I know of for plywood flooring: . 1. To have a repairable floor. . 2. Most seem to prefer E-track on the floor for securement, thus requiring the plywood to level the floor out with the E-track. The...

    Shore Power

the problem with IdleAir was the charge per hour. I know it's cheaper now, but I don't remember how much. Most of the shore power Ive seen advertised seemed to be priced really high too. A nice, nationwide network of reasonably priced shore power is what we all need, but that's quite an...

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

Agreed. 52" skids should be the largest you encounter 95+% of the time. With any kind of tail you use...be sure to build a bumper that extends far enough to protect it from the lift drivers. The CargoMax has a bit of a "lip" on top of the box and a huge bumper extending back far enough to...

    Help With Plywood Floor

I saw that and it's why I asked if anyone had used it. My brother had a sprayed in liner in a pickup once and I don't remember it being too resistant to skidding.

    when does freight pickup?

NO...NO... Don't do this! Never "whip ANYTHING out" while running circles around your truck, waving a machete and chanting. My goodness, somebody might think your crazy. Please don't ask how I know.

    when does freight pickup?

Darn... I forgot... you gotta do it in your underwear... try waving that machete around while your running the circles... report back and let us know if it works.

    Automotive Stackable Container Height?

What will the inside width of the box itself be? I think the 54" width you referred to earlier would be between the wheel wells? Spec'd well with the right dimensions and a light weight, this could be a great unit. I've always thought it to be possible.

    A&E shipping wars LOL

I doubt that many of their viewers have any idea of the legalities. They just see the entertainment value. I really don't think that the show will appeal to wider audiences for very long, but if Uship is sponsoring the show, it may stay on for a while. A lot of what happens seems to be...

    when does freight pickup?

The closest I ever got to it was by parking on the fuel island and running 7 circles around the truck as fast as I could. You might want to try 8 circles and maybe some sort of chant. I think I almost made it. With a little tweaking, who knows?

Looks like you might have to sign up to open the links, but this looks to be what your looking for: Sprinter Van Body Dimensions - Sprinter-Forum That's an EO sponsored site or something I think, so not a big deal to sign up. I think OVM might be some kind of big shot over there or...

    A&E shipping wars LOL

Seems like I read somewhere that cargo insurance is no longer required by the DOT. I guess they figured that it was an shipper/carrier issue, not a safety issue.
