    Problem with van

Well that eliminated the drive shaft. It might be an electronic throttle control sensor like was earlier mentioned. Can't believe the tech did not test for that, but techs get paid by the job and a tranny pays more than the sensor???????

    Problem with van

J.R. When you say shudder what exactly do you mean?? Do you feel it in the whole truck?? or only when your throttle up?? Make sure the drive shaft is true and inline. If that center support bearing is off just a little it will shake the van and only do it at certain speeds. Been there, done...

Eddie has a great point. Even though you are debt free, do you have cash on hand to pay for, let's say transmission?? $5,000 give or take plus towing. (Join a road club and save the towing). What works for some won't work for you. Like the chef said, who have you talked to that they're...

    DuraMax diesel

I went back to check my paperwork. The Allison became available in 2006 in Extended 3500 only. L80 was in the 2500. The 6.6 engine was and still is rated at 250 but can be re-programed. You will get better fuel mileage if up graded to a 325 -350 hp if you keep your foot out of it. .

    DuraMax diesel

I have owned a couple of those and they are good engines if you treat them right. Fuel mileage depends on the rear gear. If it's a 3.73 and you drive 62 -65 then you can expect at least 18-19 empty and about 17 loaded. The only thing I have against it with Allison transmission is the...

I once ran US 2 from Wisconsin through Montana back about a hundred years or so. That was great. Lots of roads, lots of country. Right now the panhandle of Texas on 287, taking a break and changing drivers. Heading up through the panhandle and the smell of natural gas in the air and...
