Whats the strangest thing you have hauled?

Marty, Lots of expedited loads that I had could have been found locally at home depot, and they wouldn't have needed to be expedited. But what do I care? I say, the more they do it this way, the better it is for my pocketbook.

Whats the strangest thing you have hauled?

Oh, I remember another one. I delivered a pallet of transparent TVs, radios, CD players and other electronic devices to a prison. They were for the inmates to buy if they had the money, and they were transparent so they couldn't hide anything in them. It took me so long to get in, and then just...

Whats the strangest thing you have hauled?

Crash test dummy, or it could have been an inflatable doll, who knows? A cooler of some kind of cheese to a restaurant. 5 bolts and washers in a small envelope.

    Deadhead

Phil, back when I was with another carrier I used to run like your scenario 2. Until one day when I got an offer to deadhead a significant distance from a good area to a bad area and pick up a load going to another good area. Pay was excellent. When I got to the pick up I was informed that the...

    LRT Expedite closes it's doors.

So, if a van is leased to 3 companies, which one of the 3 will it show under? And how about if a company chooses to enter a fake vin number?

    Oil Speculation effects Truckers, Pilots

Moose, You would be surprised at how many truckers don't get the fuel surcharge that the shippers pay. Some of this fuel money ends up in some broker's poket. I am against government intrusion in anything, but I think I wouldn't mind if they passed a law requiring all the fuel surcharge to go to...

    Becoming a partner carrier>

I looked into it a while ago, and some of the larger carriers will not even talk to you. You have to be in business for so many years, you have to have a certain amount of trucks, etc. Not easy.

    Sprinter PM results

Yeah, makes no sense to me. Burns more fuel and spewes out tons more co2 in the air. I guess they decided that this is the 'less of the 2 evils'. Oh well, I will keep my t1n until the wheels fall off, or 1 mil miles, whichever comes first.

    Freightliner Sprinter owner in Tennessee

Anyone here from Tennessee that owns a Freightliner Sprinter? Not Dodge or Mercedes, but Freightliner. I am having some registration issues and I would like some advice. I know Steady Eddie is from Tennessee, but I don't know if his sprinter is a Freightliner. PM me. Thanks.

    Brunswick, ME to Florence, SC

I wish my company would reimburse me for tolls. I would turn in the receipts in a heart beat. But, I can't complain, I am getting better rate per mile without being reimbursed than many that do.

I thought that it is just a cost of doing business, and you don't turn them in. Has that changed lately?

Yesterday down here in Laredo I was talking with a FedEx guy and he mentioned that FedEx will be back to percentage pay for vans shortly. Is this true? Anyone knows any details?
