Good Morning......sleepy heads :D
Just completed yet another POD (Perfect, On-time, Delivery) in the great state of MS. After some geometric, geographical triangulation I suspect I'll be working my way towards Olive Branch :D
Zane..there is nothing wrong with what you do...or Rich for that matter. Im just pointing out that there is more profitable options out there. Take your time, do your research but dont be satisfied with cheap rates. The only winners in a cheap freight environment are the brokers/carriers who...
Here it is....you can drive 10,000 miles a month to gross what $7,000 (or less?) if you want.
I'll be happy to drive less than 7,000 miles that same month for the same gross pay.
Its pretty simple...figure up your cost per mile and multiply by 3,000 and you'll see how much less it would cost...
I agree that I, at least, have been hard on Rich. I dont mean it so much as a slam to Rich as to the multi-carrier model. I like Rich and look forward to the day he is being paid what he is worth.
So to stick to the original topic of the thread. What should one do when a carrier, any carrier...
Yeah...well, there was that...lol
I know that at 60 mph Im gettin 14.5 on the avg. Ive started running a little harder and I drop to 14 running 62-65. Makes it a little easier to hit the 50mph target on a straight through run. Gotta start workin on the modifications to get the mpg up. Im pretty...
Yep purdy day too :) Probably should have done this one for free...glad I dont have to though...lol
Done already did that Scott. I have seen 18mpg on the dash readout....I was drivin about 50 mph on the interstate though...lol.
Thats the reason behind this whole thread....but wait....he gets to buy his own insurance and wait for the money too. He is independent though. And he gets to drive 10,000 miles a month! Gotta be worth somethin.
I think the larger issue is the rates. You just got a contract cancelled because you asked for .90/mile to leave your house...which tells me you consider that to be a good rate. Its not. I would love to know what you guys average per all miles.
We need less rate cutters in the industry, not...
IF they are actually trying to service a true customer...yes. But more than likely, their just bidding off a board and dont want to waste time trying to get a decent rate. You know, that aggressive bidding stuff. If you get aggressive enough (cheap enough), you can probably load trucks pretty...
Taking advantage of an opportunity isnt what gets me. I would consider that myself....if the money was there. Taking advantage of the opportunity so that you can make LESS is what just blows my mind.
The false capacity is just a by product of an already bad business model...and it hurts the...
Zorry, I dont think they have that attitude. There is obviuosly a need for freight sharing so that the carriers can get their overflow loads moved and keep their customers happy.
Over the years, there have been many smaller carriers emerge who get their freight exclusively from the load boards...
