I'm in Casper, Wyoming for the weekend. I took a pretty good hike on Casper Mountain and took a few shots. Here are a couple I got near a waterfall and stream coming down the mountain.

I just signed up with my company name and got a voucher I can use right away. I called a couple places where I am and the rate drops in half. Darn good deal. If I don't get a load out of here today, at least I can stay in a room for cheaper than idling at the Flying J. Believe it or not...

Don't you worry about that. I got a very good rate for this load. I put in a pretty high bid and nobody bid against me. Deadheading to a better location won't be a problem in the least. Whenever I go into areas like that I always try to get enough money for relocation.

I get home fairly frequently, so I just grab enough to last a week or two when I'm home. If I'm not running, I'm spending so much time on the computer, either looking for freight or doing paperwork, that I can't wait to look at something that isn't electronic. It helps me maintain my sanity.

These things look interesting, but I'm hesitant. I read voraciously when I'm not looking for loads, but there's nothing like an actual book with actual pages. I treasure my books; I'm careful with the binding, I don't dog ear the pages, I'm careful eating when I'm reading, etc. I can finish...

I think I'm going to make a ring tone out of the alert message you get when NLM reloads, either that or the Panther growl. That way when my phone rings I can hear "new shipments available" repeating until it really drives me crazy.

The storm arrived after I did and got out first. Nothing but a lot of rain in Houston. It was milder than they were originally saying. I'm seeing all kinds of loads out of every other part of Texas except here. I don't have enough hair left to pull out.

I've done quite a few Cat loads in the last month: some from Panther, some from Express-1, and a couple from FedEx. It seems that the partners are picking up a lot of the slack.

I'm in Houston and now they have a hurricane coming. It's supposed to hit Galveston tomorrow. Wait for a load or deadhead out? Sit and hope it doesn't come too far inland and Houston only gets rain, or split while I have the chance?
