    Found a co driver

Now folks, this is why experienced people on here advise newbies to drive for someone else for a while. Imagine the world of hurt this guy would be in if he bought a truck. He couldn't just walk away. Jim, hope you find another good codriver.

I have to follow UncleBob's example and offer my apologies also. I know I read before stuff about this issue but it came from our neighbors to the north. I believe it is British Columbia where you can be pulled over, weighed if the officer notices that your vehicle tires are low, or your tail...

    2014 Dodge ProMaster 3500 3.0 I-4 Diesel vs 2015 Ford Transit 350 I-5 3.2 Diesel

That is not mine. I don't believe Landstar vans show up on your board. I am empty, and my van is rated at 2500 with Landstar even though legally I can carry 3000+. Anything more than 2500-2600 lbs can go on a straight truck. Now I understand what your comment was about going to Marietta, GA.

I didn't know it either. Nowhere did I say it was long and tall. :)

The van is at an undisclosed location in GA, off of I 20 west of Atlanta. Are you somewhere nearby? I can see a cat scale from where I am sitting. I can bet whatever you want, and you will loose. I had it weighed 3 times, one when it was new and I signed it on with panther, then again when I...

South Carolina...just like our old Kentucky home. Not exactly.

The locals there said that alligators are fresh water creatures, but sometimes you see one in the salt water. The theory is that they get some kind of parasites on them and they go in the salt water to get rid of them.

You need to weigh it like I said, with all your stuff in it and a full tank. If I remember correctly my Sprinter with me and my crap in it and a full tank of fuel was around 5350 lbs.

West, I couldn't care less what you do with your trucks. But when you say things that are not true I will try to educate you. You might want to ask the safety guy at Load1 about this issue. I don't know what every Sprinter owner does, but in mine I can LEGALLY carry 3200 lbs, but I don't put...

    2014 Dodge ProMaster 3500 3.0 I-4 Diesel vs 2015 Ford Transit 350 I-5 3.2 Diesel

West, I'm not the one that is wrong here. When the manufacturer says that the vehicle's GVWR is x, they mean that x is the maximum safe limit for this particular vehicle. If you put weight in there that takes the total weight past the GVWR, you are overweight and not safe. And BTW, please...

    2014 Dodge ProMaster 3500 3.0 I-4 Diesel vs 2015 Ford Transit 350 I-5 3.2 Diesel

If your van is over 9350, you are overweight and you will get a fat ticket. The best way to figure it out is to put all your stuff in the van, full tank of fuel, you in it, and weigh it. Take that number and subtract it from 9350. What you get is the maximum weight you can carry.

South Carolina...just like our old Kentucky home. Not exactly.

I spent a week with some relatives on Kiawah Island, SC this year. I saw a few alligators, dolphins, sharks, etc. Those alligators are some magnificent creatures, but I wouldn't venture too close to one.
