    Sprinter Tires

Same thing here. 07 Sprinter with Conti tires. Almost the exact same wear you mention. Continental tires of old that I've known had excellent traction, but the compound was soft. Maybe Chrysler thinks installing a high wear tire will bring me back to their shops more often? Uh-huh. eb

    daul careerists

Yes, time on my hands too. I've been wondering what kind of alternate careers people around here have. From passing comments I think there are at least writers, stock traders, reservists...? One of my alternate titles is "artist". I'm a part member of an artist-run gallery. My time off is...

Are You Enjoying Your Sprinter ?

55k on an 07 sprinter that I started running in March 07. I like being about to stand up and walk around in the vehicle. Forklift drivers like the tall, wide doors. If it's a plastic snap-on part, it's going to fall off. I have seven parts that have either fallen off or no longer stay...

near death experience near benton harbor michigan.

RE: near death experience near benton harbor michi Last winter I was driving a fully loaded tanker into Oregon. Coming down the pass, I was comfortably behind another slow poke. I gave the other truck as much room as I could without losing site of him in the curves. Everyone else flew past...

    Pallet pullers

strap it I use a length of webbing from a strap for retrieving autos from ditches. One tool that handles every pallet configuration. Only time it didn't work was at a power plant. "We can't use your webbing, because its not certified for use in this plant." (they had an accident a couple...

    Gadgets and Accessories

headphones I'm thinking about getting noise canceling headphones, but don't know much about how well they really work. My laptop is also my home entertainment system, but the audio really gets drowned out when I'm idling. And regular headphones don't help much. Anyone have any luck with...

    C/D unit question

My set up is for a van, but a seat is a seat, right? I bolted an open ended box to the seat mount. Inside the box was for my printer (since removed, since I never use it) and on top I strap my scanner. I have a RAM laptop mount that holds my computer above the rest of the computer equipment. eb

    Old School Expediters

odd looking straight trucks The question is about access to expediting info in the old days. I made mention to the odd looks of the expediters straight truck when it began appearing on the roads. I wonder how much they do advertising for the business today as well as back then. For myself...

    Old School Expediters

I wasn't in the business at the time, but I was watching from the outside. What information I could gather was from the trucker magazines at truck stops. That wasn't a lot of information. My game plan at the time was to learn driving through a big general purpose company and learn more about...

this van not for sale Another reason vans may not be for sale is that the owners are keeping them. My business plan calls for me to convert this thing into an RV if I fail as a van expediter. Then I can continue to stalk walmarts and truck stops and continue to pretend to be a truck driver...

    Signs

frozen overpass One I like in Idaho is an "ice on bridge" sign. This one is special, because the sign is just before going UNDER an underpass. To be fair, the road does go over a creek just after the underpass, but the sign does look funny and does make for a good picture. eb
