Headed home. Have an appt tomorrow afternoon and a previous engagement for tomorrow evening. Then hoping for a good long run over the long weekend since I haven't had anything so far this week.
I could care less about going to Tx anymore. I might even leave this business because I'm not having fun anymore. The days of making $125k(2004) or $117k(2005) all in a cargo van will never be realized again IMO.
I want to also say that I DON'T like the rates where they are at anymore than you do. I want all of us to make some serious money. As I have said in the past work smarter not harder. As we all get older it's not as easy to run like this. Just ask OVM.
I'm not assuming. I'm just relaying the info I got from my dispatch as to what it took to get out of El Paso, Laredo and other cities in Tx. I took a load out of Laredo for .60 mi last week just to leave and will not return until rates go back up.
Well I hope you like .55 mi freight because that is what it will take to get out of El Paso. We had a driver there for 168 hrs before she gave in to .55 mi to get out of El Paso.
Tx is not getting better but worse. Loads going from .70 2 weeks ago to .50-.55 this past week. Going in a little better but not very much. Tx will not be on my list to visit until rates come back up.
Supposed to be 97* in Laredo on Wednesday according to my sources and if you didn't know Cotulla is usually the hot spot for all of Texas. So sizzle it is. Lol.
Supposed to be windy down in them parts for the next few days. Hopefully you got your a/c with you it's been getting to around 90* or so of late. Just preparing you. Lol.
