July (18) Boom or Bust Locations

Zorry really enjoyed the Expo. He had a 3.6 cf Norcold 110/12v Running, sitting in the sun. 34 degrees at 5pm . The wife mistakenly told a vanner $300. He said he’d honor that price. The vanner couldn’t raise the cash. Before anyone yells, he’ll put it in the Classifieds when he gets home.

Sitting at the Expo with Zorry. Parked next to Crafty Trucker Jason. Getting pretty crowded already. Beside trying to sell his truck, and give $1,000 to SCF, Zorry has for sale A Norcold 3.6 cu ft refrigerator that was used in his truck a few months before they remodeled and added the large...

    STRESSED

I spoke to a guy last year buying like a $150,000 Reefer from an owner. He was paying him 20% of his income. I said are you paying interest ? He said “I don’t know.” I believe he didn’t have a clue. The owner would let him know when it was paid off. Right.

    STRESSED

Zorry is on his way to the Expo to try and sell a freshly T-Val’d reefer. He’ll take 100% down. Or he’s got third party financing for OK credit with some down payment.

How Has Electronic Logging Changed the Trucking Industry?

When Roadway started the sleeper operation in the 90’s, fondly called “ pajama cars”, they spent 100s of thousands of dollars to figure out the schedule. Actually hired a company that did airline scheduling. Chicago Heights had about 135 weekly bids for Sleepers. My brother ran a California run...

What's needed to run for different brokers/carriers?

Just for conversation sake, back in the day, all you had were new companies. Those that performed are here today.,Others are just a bad memory. So you had to give the freight to a start up. Today, you’ve got 50 companies in your Rolodex. Why take a chance on an unknown? On the upside, you’ve...

How Has Electronic Logging Changed the Trucking Industry?

Before I started running legal, as a dumb, hungry young guy, I did a few 20 + shifts where I felt brain dead as soon as I accepted the Load.

Zorry plans on having his truck at the show. If he sells it there he’ll give $1,000.00 to SCF upon closing the deal.

What's needed to run for different brokers/carriers?

I imagine a big Hangup would be insurance. And maybe history. Unless they’re really in a bind, why give YOU a chance to mess up a customer?

    Cargo Van Interesting van setup.

Your honor, please throw out this frivolous lawsuit as these cell phone records prove I was not changing towers anywhere near the time of the posts. I don’t even post while my wife or girlfriend are driving. If I’m in the car I pay attention to them, as any gentleman should do.

    Cargo Van Interesting van setup.

I hope so. I’d sure hate to walk out of court the new owner of a dozen dilapidated yellow vans.

    Cargo Van Interesting van setup.

Scaled ? At 9900 lbs ? If one of you Van guys ever hit my vehicle I guarantee you there’d be an attempt to prove whatever you were hauling had you overweight on one axle or another. And improperly secured. Both showing negligence on your part. I’d have my lawyer pick apart your tie down install...
