    How does ComData work?

Someone at your Company should have the Com Data information that applies to that Company and to you. Different companies have different types of accounts with ComData so fees are different. With FEDEXCC after you are loaded FDX will advance 45% of your trip onto the ComData card. This is for a...

    Odd Truck??

Years ago sleepers were built into the front of the box. I had 2 trucks outfitted that way. The DOT rule was that the rear wall of the sleeper had to withstand a 6,000 pound impact. The sleepers were quite roomy that way but heat and air was not the best. Roberts Express banned that type of...

    Gas or Diesel van

Having a reliable vehicle depends a lot on you and your driving habits plus maintenance schedule. I know Terry and he is (as I am) a sticlker for preventive maintenance. It is one of the most important things you can do whether you drive a Chevy van or a Century Class 8 F/liner. Too many times...

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

I remember that situation. Volvo was looking at some serious litigation plus the US DOT and the large fleets going after them. Guess it worked out..

has anyone come across this situation before?

That situation has happened to me twice with the old Roberts Express. One time in Jackson MI a tractor load to Kansas City was to be split between 2 D. Units, me and another one. First D arrived and took all of the freight,he had no reason too as he did not get paid anymore,at least that is what...

Forget to use dolly / landing gear

Sounds like it is OK,Check the bags for air leaks, also if your air compressor is staying on pumping it's a good chance there is a leak back there.

Forget to use dolly / landing gear

Air bags could be damaged. A Lot depends on how fast Evil Knevil drives into the truck. Some of the battery powered fork lifts weigh 12,000 pounds alone. I always check as too how they are going to load the truck, using a p/jack or f/lift. I don't unlock my rear door until I know whats going on,if...

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

If I remember correctly I think it was about a year ago that Volvo's were coming out of the factory with the front axle overweight. I believe they had to do a lot of mods to get the tractors legal.

    Whats a C unit making

Team drivers,Have just done the math and I have to admire your dedication. Going by your figures you did 188,760 miles in 44 weeks, average of 612 miles every day. You stated that 14% was deadhead giving you loaded miles of 162,334 for the 44 weeks. Based on what you said you were paid I looked...

    Absent Minded

Heavy stuff went on this weekend so on a lighter note lets discuss the absent minded things we have all done. I will lead in and it might be hard to top this one. I spent 5 minutes this morning walking around the house looking for my coffee cup. Guess what, I was holding it in my right hand...

    Whats a C unit making

Are those rates accurate? Seems quite low for a C Unit. I would think loaded miles would be at a $1.15 or so not 60% of $1.05. B Units seems to make .77 per mile with Panther so wouldn't a C make more..

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

Have to wonder how many $ were lost in the original design by switching vendors and changing concepts.. This is a good example to show how you should deal with an experienced expediter truck supplier rather then design it solely on what you desire, since your desires may put your axles over...

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

I have always heard that Volvo's and Western Stars were heavy on the front.I believe Glen Rice had a Volvo but it was set up as a C unit. A Team, how about giving us all a progress report? GEO used to have a Star but it was also a C Unit.
