    Cat 3126 Warm Up

I have never had a 3126 that new, but had a 2001 and 2 2000's. All three of them had 2 thermostats in them. I think the C7's came out in 2004. When you first start them in cold weather, 135 is not going to warm the interior up very fast. All of mine would cool way down idling in cold weather...

    Do you get bored

I thought I was the only one that did that kind of stuff to stay awake. I only do it when it is dark.

    *&$#*&( Repairs

U r having the kind of week I had last week. I replaced my alternator with a rebuilt and headed out with a load. Got unloaded and pulled out to a safe area and called in. Truck was running while I was sitting there. All of a sudden, a funny sound and smoke coming from under hood. Before I could...

Finally a carrier that works for their cut!

Truck apperance does play a role in getting inspected often or not. I have heard the DOT guys talk about it amongst themselves. And single axle straight trucks are sitting ducks. Easiest to inspect and a truck is a truck on their inspect list. I do try to keep my truck clean and decent looking...

We don't like your kind around here.

Add WalMart at Pasedena, Texas to the list. I spent $47 there and the security guard gave me the boot. I asked to see manager and she radioed inside and the manager came on and said "tell him no parking period". There was an 18 wheeler there also, but he fired up and left when he saw us talking...

You are not in as bad of shape as you might think. We don't see the pix's. I guess the links are too old or something. This thread was back in 2003 I think. Guess the links dropped off since then. But, bigfoot & lilfoot have a beautiful 2001 (I think) class 8 Freightliner. It has been well...

    class 8 trucks

You are right. Very nice couple indeed. Friendly and very upbeat about the whole situation of the trade. I had no idea of who they were because they haven't posted here since I became a member of EO. But, I too, wish they would start posting here again. They have a lot of experience to offer.

    Driving a straight rig w/o a cdL?

So nobody knows for sure. Just read back over these posts. "I guess", "I believe", "I was told",....It all comes down to "what the DOT man believes, or heard, or thinks". Better hope it is the same as you heard. I have come to the conclusion that the whole FMCSA thingy is a gray area. One day it...

Is Truck Stop Customer Service Improving?

Are we talking the TA, J and Pilot at Baytown, Texas? Where I was at the Pilot Friday morning and was awakened by a tall slender black "man" standing in the street shouting cuss words at incoming trucks. Police also ignored him. I think he may have been retarded, but you would think they would...

    Celebrating March

Wow! My family has done this for years also. But we never, ever thought of it as a celebration. Ooohhhhhhhhh! If only we had known that it was "Garbage Eve". And they say "old dogs can't learn new things". Thanks for enlightening us!

Finally a carrier that works for their cut!

Look. Bottom line is that we all are where we are, because of choice. How did we make that choice? Beings we are all different in our ways, I would imagine we all did our research and came up with the pros and cons to make our choice. I don't say (publicly at least) that any one of us is more...

    Gearmaster

if yours is a 10, 4th to 5th would be my 3rd to 4th. And I was having problems there every time. But, I found that if when you shift, don't come straight back toward 5th, instead, come out of 4th and go over toward R or 1st. Just a little to break the straight back effect. Just come out of 4th...

That's great, cause now I can agree with you on all the above mentioned. I will always run independent from the big ones. Cause I get some of their scraps.

KY may get a NASCAR cup race

You gotta believe NASCAR is worried about the immediate future of their industry. The cutting of sponsors and manufactures money, gotta be scarry to them. Wonder if Tony Stewart has any regrets going on his own now? NASCAR is on unstable waters that they have never experienced before. They have...
