Which Expediter Will Be the First to Use Driver Cams?

Very true how that works. We had a driver hit one of our trucks in a truck stop and tried to run. Another driver got his plate and he admitted he hit it. Got the truck fixed in about four months and zip on down time except what we got from Progressive via their policy which had a max payout of...

Which Expediter Will Be the First to Use Driver Cams?

Very true. I guess one could drill down a little further and look at how this would or could be used by some carriers. As mentioned, catch a driver looking at a gps for a little too long. Gone for distracted driving. Just tell the fleet owner to find another one. Rinse and repeat. Or, again as...

One Man Fight to Save the Expedited Trucking Industry

Well, actually you can. Study a post prior to posting and consider how it could be interpreted. The minute you go after as in this case "Russians" or a moderator for example, you lose the very audience you are trying to win over for your cause.

One Man Fight to Save the Expedited Trucking Industry

I think you addressed your own concern. We understand your message, but the delivery is getting interpreted as a racist rant.

The Gap store closing issues as mentioned are tied to many things, but as they indicate, rising wages is a component. It is the same when you look at the state of Washington. Turtle is correct, you aren't going to read stories about it, but businesses there that raised the minimum wage have done...

Which Expediter Will Be the First to Use Driver Cams?

I could see some advantages of a forward facing one, but not in the cab for the reasons that many listed. Again, no real benefit to the driver. He/she stands to lose more than they would gain. Also as mentioned, the independent contractor component would likely kill anything like this. Also have...

After almost eight years, it gets a little hard to blame it on Bush or the republicans. They do have their faults. If you are going down that path, might want to start with Carter.

Your funny. So raise the minimum wage, and just today you get this. So predictable. The gap raises wages, and then cuts jobs. Same with the majority of them that followed that path. http://www.wsj.com/articles/gap-plans-to-close-stores-cut-jobs-1434399781

Which Expediter Will Be the First to Use Driver Cams?

And there is the problem. There is no benefit to the driver if a contractor and has one facing them. Might or might not be good for the carrier, but that is a different issue. Most would use it as another profit center if they could. Would need a surplus of drivers to pull it off, and that the...

Which Expediter Will Be the First to Use Driver Cams?

If employees, it could happen. If they are independent contractors, not going to happen. There is no benefit to a driver to have one facing them.

It is pretty simple. Even the majority of democrats say the economy is struggling. Hillary is banking on it.

    The Trump Card...

I think this is awesome. Will make for a great political season. Not sure he is real presidential, but he is a great bomb thrower.

    Welfare reform

When you get into the details of many of these programs, that have some pretty significant budgets and payouts. So make no mistake, someone is getting the money. Of course in some, it has been shown it was dead people, but you know.

    Redundant questions of an expediter

Some advantages depending on the carrier would be fuel discounts and likely the rate. Especially if looking at Panther. Fleet owners run at a higher rate than a individual truck. As far as the five percent variance, if the truck grosses 20k a month, that is a grand a month, or $500 if splitting...

    Redundant questions of an expediter

Umm??? Need to shop that a little bit. As mentioned, there are fleet owners that have new or newer trucks at that 40 percent. Keep in mind, that "new trucks" aren't necessarily trouble free. Especially with all the emissions items on them. Ask me how I know. lol

    Welfare reform

That is it right there. They do vary from state to state, but much of the income is from a combination of numerous programs. That is going from welfare, snap program, free food at school, subsidized clothing, subsidized cell phones, tv cable, and internet, subsidized housing, free or subsidized...
