    About the Coffee..

Funny you should ask! I SWEAR they put MSG in their coffee.. becuz: i)it is definitely addictive ii)there is some kind of preservative thing in it, I swear.. becuz if you have a coffee from ANYwhere else, and it sits for a couple or a few hours, it develops a circle on the cup, from the cream...

    About the Coffee..

Being in the US for the past couple of days, I was concerned about missing my Canadian fix for our great Tim Horton's coffee.. and was very impressed with.. McDonald's, of all places! Apparently they've stepped up their coffee offerings over the past few years, and it's darn good! Thought I'd...

    60/40 split?

Your pendant sounds lovely :) But back to business.. it goes without saying, that you have to have the load offers from the carrier to begin with, but can you imagine the frustration of an owner, whose driver did in fact have the opportunities, but declined them for personal reasons and 'don't...

    60/40 split?

Seventy percent, AND you got reimbursed for expenses (other than fuel)?? Wow! So let's see a pic of the lusted-after truck! hehe, that just reminded me.. I was away yesterday and checking some things on my laptop at a coffeeshop.. when I was finished and packing up, a woman approached me and...

    60/40 split?

This is just a thought, but perhaps the reason why the bonus for miles is offered is becuz drivers might feel they've made enough money/run hard enough for the week, and now deserve some time off, or want home time more frequently, or be choosey about which loads they'll take going where, or for...

    Alabama class B training

That's a good idea, but keep in mind there will be a commitment to drive for whoever pays for your training, for a certain length of time before you'll be able to leave freely. If you go for the training through an accredited driver school, it usually counts for 3 years experience, as far as...

    Food Stamps

Sounds like.. Total $1400 Less $210 for the driver (20% of $1050) Less $560 for fuel, tolls, R&M (40% of the $1400) Equals $630 for the owner (45%) And what happens if the fuel, tolls, and R&M aren't covered by the 40%? Whose percentage does that come from? Man, sounds like this owner's...

It's My Day on the Soap Box

This is quoted from another post by the Rev earlier today, and it kind of ties into my post. My post isn't about trucking or expediting per se, but it's about customer service, two-way streets, and professionalism. I'm not sure how old the Rev is, or if this has something at all to do with...

KKB weren't you starting today with a different carrier? What happened with that?

    Food Stamps

Just wondering.. is that normal for a driver (not an owner) to pay for R&M? Doesn't seem right somehow? Or am I misunderstanding what you mean by taking it from fuel saved off the fuel card?

About bolt-express read this before you go onboard

Ok, nuther dumb question.. I had always thought that 'drivers' get paid by their fleet owner? Do drivers in fact get paid directly by the carrier? Isn't it complicated for the carrier to keep track of each 'owner's' method of paying his drivers?

    Corporate Lodging Discounts

You have to have a credit card set up with them to receive their payment from, correct? What I'm wondering Cheri, is if your card might be geared to bill your carrier you had at the time? And if so, they could've put a stop on paying out for those? Just a thought? We had no prob getting one...

Canada Expedite companies in Canada - information

I think they're all basically the same, everyone complains about all of them, for the most part. Take your pick. Oh, and as the good Col would say, your 'don't wanna' might get in the way with any of them.
