    When do you Sleep/

As an O/O and solo driver, I sleep when the load has been delivered. If I am on a long run and there is some extra time allowed, I might cat nap to refresh myself. But generally, I make my delivery first. Very seldom do I get a motel room. Once when I was pretty sick and then when I get snowed in.

    What Do You Listen To?

Bluegrass and Gospel on XM. Also have a few CD's that have some favorites. Listening to the CB is mostly disgusting. The langauge is not what one needs to hear all day.

You May Want To Avoid This Shop

But why is it like this everywhere you go? Who do you trust anymore? A breakdown while on the road is a nightmare. Very seldom do you get charged an amount that you feel isn't inflated. It is never something simple. It is always a costly item. UGGGH!!!

    Not Truck Related

I don't think the resistance would matter all that much in what you are trying to do. The 3 post control should still work. Cut one of your speaker wires (shouldn't matter which one) and try them on different posts till you find a variation you like. If all else fails, put your wires back...

    Slush Busters revisited

Do they make a thumping noise when the wipers hit it? I have never seen these before. Looks like something that would be an aid to driving in the freezing rain.

    Dealer can't read?

I would have thought the dealer was going to charge you and your insurance. They would have made a double wammy on it. And when you looked, how many belts did you see broke???? Guess I just don't trust none of them anymore. Breaking down on the road can be a nightmare. And a learning experience.

    What Would you do?

At first I might have had some thoughts, but if it saved me a ticket, I would have been very appreciative. At least you tried to save him. That's all you can do.

    Flatbed Expediting?

Due to the drought in this area, my local agriculture extension office bought loads of hay from Missouri. Some loads were delivered on flat bed T/T from expediting companies. They hauled it as back loads to get to a better area (Nashville area).

    For Freightchaser and John O..

I have heard that quitting was the easy part. Staying quit was the hard part. Ha! But for me, quitting was the hardest. After I made it 2 or 3 days without smoking, I knew I could do it. In the 49 years I smoked, I never made it past a day when I tried to quit. Why? Cause like someone said...

    For Freightchaser and John O..

After many years of breathing problems and numerous visits to the doctor, I finally saw the light and decided it was time to seriously try to quit. My doctor told me about CHANTIX and the "It's My Time To Quit" program. It was a God send for me. If you really want to quit and need help doing it...

    C-7 Cat engine

The Cat C7 is the newest version of the 3126. Not exactly sure of the year it changed, but believe it was 2004. 210 HP was all I ever ran in my 26000 GVW 24 foot Sterling. It gave me 11 miles to the gallon and did me a good job. You can look back at previous posts on the 3126. There has been...

    Firearm Choices

I am neither for or against carry a weapon, but search I have for a regulation against it. I have yet to find one. I personally wouldn't want to get caught with one in a truck, but I know for a fact there are alot of drivers packing.

    Opinions on this truck?

I too, feel that is a bit much for that truck. No doubt it would do the job and be what you need. You ought to be able to find a better bargain if not in a hurry.

    which is a better engine

I have never owned or driven a MBE equipped truck, but have owned a Sterling with the 3126B. My feeling is that a 3126 with 650000 miles on it, is about ready for the scrap pile. These are good engines up to a point. I have heard they will go about 700000 and then are completely wore out. They...

    Cat 3126 question

I bumped mine up 900 to 1000 because it ran smoother and I could sleep with less vibration. Idling has always been known to be hard on your engine. But until recently, what other options did we have? And if you drive the older trucks, it is still a way of life.
