    plates

The cost of the plates depends on the miles you have run or plan to run throughout the US and Canada. I assume you will be getting apportioned plates. This means a certain amount of your registration fee will be paid to states other then Oklahoma based on the miles you have operated or intend...

    TST EXPIDITED SERVICES?

I don!t know anyone who runs for TST but last week I ran I 94/401 from Milwaukee to Toronto, then back from Waterloo Ontario to Chicago and Minneapolis. I saw 3 FDX CC units,1 TRI STATE unit, 3 Panther units ,some small Mom/Pop opeators but at least 15-20 TST units. That may tell you something.

    CDRP

This type of Canadian vs USA bashing really has no place or value on this site.None of us set Government Policies either in Canada or the US but we all have to live with them.I have no problem going to Canada and actually enjoy it up there. If you know the customs procedures and are prepared in...

    PLATES

Unless it!s changed Oklahoma renews vehicle registrations starting at the end of the calendar year.Your registration cab card should indicate a enforced expiration date of March 1. The plate stays with the vehicle, just the cab card (registration) gets renewed each year.hope that helps.

Maximum Legal Length for a Straight Truck

I believe agricultural type vehicles can be up to 60 feet long, but most states are at 40 feet.A while back North Carolina was starting to enforce the 40 foot law but stopped for some reason.

    Alternative to Rig Master

In the winter I use the Catalytic Heater that our Canadian friend Jim Bunting discussed about 2 years ago.You can buy them at K Mart/Walmat for about $45.00.One small bottle of propane lasts about 8-10 hours. They are designed for indoor use and other then a a flame used to ignite the heater...

Dodge 1 ton P/U with CTX

I can remember seeing CTX A units that were Ford Rangers with caps on them, also some guy used to have a Pick Up with a small RV body on it,and he ran for CTX. Frankly you are probably not going to get too much business with that type of vehicle. I havn!t seen a A unit in quite a while. I would...

Which company should I go with??

Tim what happens is that a lot of complaining goes on about various companies that contractors are leased on to,some of it is justified and some not. People that are doing well tend to keep quiet as they do not want to kill the good bucks by telling about it. What will happen is that disgruntled...

Lawerence I hate to disagree with you but we have a cell phone with Cingular wireless and we have 500 anytime minutes,3000 night and weekend minutes for $49 + lots of taxes each month. There is never a roaming charge anywhere in the country, whether we are on their network or not. We have another...

    Fedx CC Observaions on Driving

Thought I would pass this on to all FDX CC drivers is that FDX Safety Department uses a company called Safety Service from Wellington Ohio to follow and write a written report as too how a FDX CC vehicle is being driven plus the condition of the vehicele. I have been checked twice by the same...

CF closed (Kind of Off topic, but maybe not)

RE: CF closed Sad story, unlike the airlines usually when a trucking company declares bankruptcy, they don!t start up again. Wonder if this will affect the Con Way Companies who are non union, and in paricular Conway Now.

    contracts with drivers

Probably the most important thing to get on paper is your status with the owner. Will you be his emploee or a independent contractor utlizing his vehicle.the IRS looks at how much control the owner has over you and your daily lifestyle.Examples are,can you accept or reject loads without his...

FEDXCC is last call on FED EX Freight!

About 2 months ago I was at the Petro in Beaumont Texas and I parked next to a D Reefer unit that had door signs saying"Fedex Logstics, Hudson Ohio". I queried FDX CC Dispatch about it thinking it may have been the old Medi Quip Division of Roberts. Those trucks hauled mainly pharmaceuticals to...

    EatonTransmission

Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this problem with a Eaton/Fuller 6 speed. When the outside temperature is over 90 degrees and the truck has been running on the road for some time ,the transmission is real difficult to drop down out of 6th gear.It goes up all the way and down from...

    Great 2002 EXPO

Unfortunatly for me I had to miss the show.I was ready to leave home on the night of the 14th and the phone rang with a run from Tampa FL to El Paso TX.With the kind of year I have been having there was no way to say no to that money. Then Fedex CC ran our wheels off.We did about 8,000 miles in...

why would anyone stay out 3 weeks at a time?

Well I think each to his own.No one forces you to stay out 3-4 weeks at a time.We used to spend 4-6 weeks out now it!s rarely more than 2 weekends away. A lot depends on the revenue that has come in.I pretty much know my monthly breakeven costs and when that is obtained it makes it much easier...

Expediting can't be as bad as you say?

About 6-7 years ago Roberts (now FEDEX CC) was toying with that idea that all trucks would have to be in service 3 weeks every month as a minimum. They would schedule what week of the month you would be free to go out of service.Well there was a huge protest from the fleet that this was not...
