    What about Isuzu?

Leo, I did go look at the web site. How do you say "Top Kick" in Japanese?

    What about Isuzu?

OK, since you are already talking Japanese trucks. Hino has a service network in the US already established. 22,000 locations. And yes, it does look good with the hat on doesn't it?

    Curious on truck purchase

It's not one of our expediters. All have had air ride seats and air ride suspensions. None of the major carriers will take a truck w/o air ride. If what he is saying is a fact that team needs to call the HINOWATCH phone number and get that truck to a dealer. Hino gives three years worth of...

    Curious on truck purchase

Dave, there is one at Panther II (two more on order), 4 at Conway Now, and 2 at FedEx. They are out there. More on the way.

    Curious on truck purchase

Leo, the only prize for being the first guy to get to the top of the hill is that it cost you the most to get there. Fuel economy is taking precedent over big horses. And unless fuel gets back down to that buck a gallon world again, it's going to contiinue to lean that way. The guy who keeps the...

    Curious on truck purchase

This is definitely going to be self serving, but here goes anyhow. You guys are only talking about Freightliners and Internationals like there are no other trucks on the market. Let me bring you up to date on the Hino model 338. There are currently several thousand 2007 U.S. emissions compliant...

    Insurance

There is an advertiser on the home page of this web site. Commercial Insurance Services. They are located in Akron, OH. EO did a feature story on the agency a couple of months ago. The owners name is Shelly. Hit the link and give them a call. The times I have spoken with her she seemed very...

    Hino straight trucks

OK, maybe "ownership" was an overstatement. The link below does state "will offer a new line of conventional medium duty trucks." So the 338 is what this partnership is about. And I assume other, yet to come, models. And rumor has it a class 8 is in the works for the American market. With these...

    Hino straight trucks

One thing I was aware of, Hino North America is partly owned by Roger Penske. These trucks can be worked on at any Penske facility. That would give them a pretty extensive service network I think. Also Dave, the model you saw at the Expo was a below CDL model. It was not the correct model for...

    Hino straight trucks

Hello, I know there are several owners out there running the Hino model 338 as a D or C unit. Are there any Hino owners who read and post at Expediters Online? I have heard some interesting things about the Hino related to fuel mileage and not breaking down. Does anyone have any first hand...

    Hello Panther II

In reality it's not the lack of contact. Someone spoke with you about this issue on 1-3 and twice on 1-4. It's the answer that you aren't happy with. Right?

Does panther2 give end of year reports???

Brian, you will receive a 1099 in the mail however it doesn't contain a lot of details. You may be able to get a summary of your deductions after Feb 1st by calling your relations rep. Also, if you have access to the owner's web site, all of your settlement statements are available there...

    gelled fuel

Not without available crude oil they don't. That was the whole reason "already distilled" off road fuel was allowed to be used. No crude oil.

Good News For 2006 Panther II Drivers (Rumor)

That logo has 12 years of history and is recognizable anywhere in America. Changing that would be as dumb as giving up a name that is a standard in the industry. A name like Roberts Express, for example. Did I say that?

    gelled fuel

My mistake, it wasn't the DOE. It was the IRS. http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=149429,00.html

    gelled fuel

FYI, during the whole Katrina fuel "crisis" and due to the low availability of #2 diesel, the DOE allowed use of dyed off road fuel in on road applications for a limited time as long as the road taxes were paid. My guess is one of your Flying J stops still has some in the ground.

Panther ii (parts haulers getting nervous?)

Those who don't haul parts should be nervous too. Because if the parts business slows down the big companies, with big sales forces, will be looking for replacement freight. Maybe yours. Have a wonderful day!!

    Gas or Diesel van

I am in agreement with redytrk. Skip the van altogether. Go straight to whatever you plan to driver with the wife and run it solo until she is ready. If you get the van your negative equity will grow much faster that your bank account. You'll make a much better living in the larger truck too. If...
