    Hours-of-service rule overturned

Well, I'm not a FedEx Driver (yet) but I myself will continue to log under the new HOS rules until I see it in the newspapers and all over the news. No doubt if there's any kind of "Major" change then the news will spread like wildfire. Later, Bob.

So... being a simple man here... in laymans terms what happened???

    Layover Time

Hi Dave, the pallet jack was not really "requested" by anybody - where it helps out in my opinion (with Panther that is) is on truck to truck swaps. With a Pallet Jack on-board... You don't have to hunt down a switch dock - just go to a parking lot in a truck stop or vacant shopping center...

    Tag/Pusher Axle

Yes, I agree with Dave, that Sharp' explains it very welll... Sharp said "A PUSHER AXLE IS IN FRONT OF YOUR DRIVE AXLE BECAUSE YOU PUSH IT DOWN THE ROAD AND WHEN YOU APPLY PRSSURE YOU'LL DECREASE THE WEIGHT ON YOUR STEERS." Sharp also said "I HAVE A PUSHER AXLE ON MY TRUCK AND THIS ALLOWS...

    Layover Time

For a solo, the average wait time would be less than 12 hours Weds. thru Friday. Sat. thru Monday it's slow for solo's, if you don't get a load by Friday nite... usually... then plan on being "freightless" for the weekend. Weds. thru Friday are the busiest days for a solo - teams I have no idea...

    KENWORTH T300

Big BUS Bob talkin' here... from busses I know the Allison is a 6 speed Automatic... that you can shift manually. Usually it's a push button transmission - the older models have an actual gear lever you pull back and push forward (like on a throttle on a boat). Today as far as I know though...

    Tag/Pusher Axle

SleepyDog, a Liftable Tag Axle (they lift with air-pressure)... kiss about $6,000.00 Good Bye. They lift right from the drivers seat and you can adjust how much pressure you want to put onto the ground - from about 20 psi all the way up to 120 psi plus. The Tag goes in front of the drives, the...

    So many questions

Ok, crunching numbers that would be realistic in my mind... though I don't know about Sprinter runs, I do know what realistic weekly solo miles would/could be... at your .84 CPM, lets say you get 5 loads a week at 500 miles each, that's $2,100 per week roughly. Now Subtract 20% and that's...

    Log Books and Fuel Reciepts

Panther driver here, and Dave... Smile, 'cause the log dept. at PII has caught me a couple times trying to move fuel times - they do check comdata times with log times at PII. Needless to say, I learned quick to get cash advances off of ComData and use cash for fuel. Regarding fuel...

DD and Dave, thanks for the input, I meant to call ya'll today, but got wound up with family that was still here from the holiday weekend. Miles Teams Make... Week, Month

SilverDollar, since I posted... Lease agreement for drivers of O/O

I would have thought more owners would have put their 2 cents in, esp. regarding drivers, thought I brought up some interesting things, as did the others in this thread... would be interesting to see what owners are wanting from their drivers? Honesty and keeping the equipment up good I'm sure...

Hello, I'm curious folks, since I've not driven truck team before but would consider it (with the right female - who comes from a wealthy family, that has a good boat, motor, and trailer, can cook, etc.) Smile!. Only joking, but I sure got your attention didn't I...

    Feedback on Business Plan

Not really into the whole "Business Plan" aspect of things as a driver, but learning as I read on this awesome site with awesome site filled with awesome people... anyways, Tazman mentioned the figures of nearly 4,000 miles a week, for a team. I don't know if that's easily done for 3 weeks a...

Lease agreement for drivers of O/O

Ok, I can see I might be very well involved with this thread, but that's a good thing. Question to think about, You say Dave that the owner should get the detention time pay if he's paying the fuel? I agree with you on whoever pays the fuel gets the surcharges and all, that only makes sense...

Lease agreement for drivers of O/O

"What should a driver agree to do for the owner if the driver abandons the truck?" that statement depends on many things, especially the circumstances. In my reply above (the 1st reply in this thread) I think, and most involved directly and indirectly-think I did the right thing, so in my...
