I need info on starting a career

Hi Keith, Well this is *the* web site for Expediter info. One suggestion I would like to offer is to make a pot of coffee and sit down to a search of these here forums. Your questions have been asked here many time before and there is a wealth of information to be had with some time and...

    E-Track installation question

I just purchased a nice used GMC 3500 with a 10' Morgan FRP body and need to install some cargo management equipment. I would like to install E-Track both close to the floor (per another post here on EO) and just under the existing tie-off rail. Since the body is fiberglass reinforced plywood...

Load Securement Devices and how to.

    >What we found is if you have a row of e track level with the >floor we can put a bar in front and behind the skid...thus >it goes nowhere. Ooooh. Me likes this idea. I wonder if I can get 6' long load bars... Off to find some E-track.... -- Mike N

    Leg room?

Well I just bought a nice used 2001 GMC Savana 3500 with a 10' cube on it. Funny but I am comfortable driving it. The Express (not sure what year it is) I was driving was god awful to drive. I don't get it. It's almost the same truck. -- Mike N

    business insurance?

Well I just bought insurance for my new (to me) 1 ton van today. The only company that I could find without spending a week looking was Progressive. I called Erie and they told me they could not insure my van for delivery work. Bah. Anyway, I got the bare minimums including collision etc. and...

    V-6 or V-8

Well I've been running a 4.3L V6 Chevy Astro for the last 2 years and in my opinion it is a fine motor. I have had 2000# of cargo in the Astro with very good performance out of the truck. Also with gas prices being what they are I am pleased with the 15-17 MPG it gets. It's a shame the rest of...

    EGL

So that's where Penney went! We used to do Penney @ Dynamex. Paid good. I miss that work a lot. I've been trying to get my A**, er butt in gear to get a new van or small cube truck and try getting on with EGL. My Astro is tired (200K miles). Thanks Childsafe (and GEO from past posts) for the...

    Leg room?

That's an idea. Thanks Geo. The other option I have considered is a 3500 single rear wheel truck with a small box. My personal wheels is a Chevy C2500 X-cab and I can drive that truck for *hours* without making my knee mad. I saw a nice used truck recently but it was a tad expensive and had a...

    Liftgate for Vans/Sprinters?

I recently looked at a Chevy 3500 C truck with a small box on it and it also had a similar liftgate. The first thing I thought was 'Ugh!' Gotta roll the lift down to stuff tubs in the back. Was a nice looking truck with low miles but the lift would have been painful to remove. -- Mike N

    Leg room?

I don't know about the rest of the van people here but does anybody have any tips for making more leg room in a Chevy Express? I am a big dude (6' 5") and have problems with my right knee and cannot no matter how hard I try keep it from hurting while driving the company Express van. My Astro is...

    Liftgate for Vans/Sprinters?

All the vans I have seen with those liftgates seemd to be back end heavy. The other thing I don't like about the thing on a small van is that it is in the way for loading/unloading of cargo. You have to run the thing down just to open the doors. How would you load the truck via forklift? Would...

    "Little Trucks" versus the World

RE: I spent 2 years hauling cars into and out of NYC. The first week on that run I had my CB in the truck. I soon turned it off and later took it out of the truck. I couldn't tell you where I stashed the thing and I don't want to find it either. CB = Children's Band. :D -- Mike N
