On duty time includes waiting to be dispatched.

No not me, I am a straight truck...lowest offer I got I believe was .42 pm. Got a call from a T-Val friend that told me about their offer. I have a copy of the regs...given to me by an Oregon DOT Officer...the problem is it seems even they are not sure, which makes us all at the mercy of their...

On duty time includes waiting to be dispatched.

Agreed, we don't either. And I think that is why the Carriers use the no forced dispatch in their contracts. But I wonder why they still keep track of refusals. Should a class 8 T-val truck get hit with a refusal because they turned down a .68 pm which is obviously less than their operating...

On duty time includes waiting to be dispatched.

According to J. J. Keller and Associates "Hours of Service A Driver's Guide" Second Edition, page 8. "On-duty time includes time spent: Waiting to be dispatched...." Is this why Carriers say no forced dispatch? Does this get around the "waiting" as counting against your hours? And if so, why...

    Many Thanks

We appreciate all the calls and cards from the expedite community regarding the passing of my father-in-law. It meant much to us. At the services, several hundred attended and the outpouring was just amazing. I have attached a couple of photos. Again our sincere thanks.

    FL70 sleeper gasket

If you are referring to the 'boot' then try the manufacturer or perhaps a rebuild shop. Also as in my old hometown, I went to a company called Rubber Specialities that had all types of products for boots gaskets shields etc...usually at large discounts...also RV and mobile home supply stores....

Is it the ECONOMY? Or are we to blame for the low rates?

Team C and others have helped us by their writings. Their mistakes didn't become ours because of their willingness to share valuable information. I have never met them but hope to do so in the future. The purpose of the original post was because of the similarities between a few in this business...

    Help! Powerpac APU problem

If yours is the the 3k (yellow) untill 2007 i think, then there was a common problem with the field install inwhich you need to remove the top panel and clean the connectors on the right side (rr each wire one at a time) this was not a QC issue but an install issue. Our first Power Pac...

    Help! Powerpac APU problem

They have had some changes on the controller card and some assembly/vendor changes that might be important for assisting you. Call Jeff if you haven't spoke with him yet and perhaps with the serial # of the engine they could cross reference it to your unit. We have two on our truck totaling over...

Is it the ECONOMY? Or are we to blame for the low rates?

Agreed on most points Team as we have followed your posts closley in chosing and improving our truck for safety and comfort. However since we are not common carriers, I think comfort (to a point) actually becomes more of a safety issue.I emphasize "to a point" because as with anything, there is...

Is it the ECONOMY? Or are we to blame for the low rates?

Actually, as I was trying to explain the operational cost of this type of vehicle, the dispatcher interuppted me and said "Thanks anyways". Go figure. I never got to finish explaining to her why we can't operate at .62 per mile...perhaps she was just too busy.

Is it the ECONOMY? Or are we to blame for the low rates?

Did we create our own delima? After refusing an offer for an ASAP pu and non confirmed del paying .62 per mile for a class 8 33k lb truck and than getting that "can you help us " phone call, I pondered...is it really the economy, or has such a rosey picture being painted about this business...

    Tire Discounts

We just bought 6 michelin XZA3s all the same size/tread in order to rotate all to the steer position. The discount was :). After getting our invoice, I can understand why Michelin dosen't want us to make a public disclosure of the pricing.

Will We Get Out of New Orleans?

We have always gotten good loads out of that area. (Surface C unit 22' box no liftgate). All but one pick-up was west between new Orleans and Baton Rouge. Do be careful however our truck was broken into with me still in it...the guy got away with my triangles which are kept behind the drivers...

What do u do when ur sick on the road??

As a matter of fact we do have a HUGHE EXAUST FAN from MAXAIR that is dedicated for just the bathroom...it works better than the exhaust fan at home and unlike "Fantastic Fan" it can stay open during rain and can be open/closed while the truck is traveling down the road. We also have a seperate...

    The FECC suggestion/complaint box

Ditto! I have seen too many complaints about 'FEDEX' when its actually an employee acting out of the company's parameters or there is a 'glitch' in the system and management has no way of knowing unless you speak up/write up. Keep your complaints, comments and suggestions pointed and be able to...

Is a Toilet too much to ask for?

I know this is an old post but it was a question we were pondering also. Tired of the nastiness of truck stops to put it mildly and having a nice comfortable truck (minus a shower/toilet) we decided to look at our options. Comming from a background that included RV ownership and all the comforts...
