    Sleeper option

As opposed to STUCK in an office, or STUCK at home? I enjoy my job driving, I was saying I would make it as comfortable as possible. Don't read too much into a simple statement. When I'm away from my wife and baby for weeks at a time, sitting at a truckstop, yes... I'm STUCK in a truck! T-hawk

    slow loads?

Merkur, I found if you're specific about what info you want, they'll tell you almost anything. If I'm looking to empty move, I'll run 3 or 4 possibilities through them to find where the loads and trucks are. Sometimes I'll ask if there's anything booked in advance within a couple hundred miles...

    Sleeper option

Bob, other than bugs between the cab and bunk, was there serious drag in that area according to your fuel mileage? If I'm stuck in a truck 3 weeks at a time with someone else, you're darned right I want a BIG bunk :)

    slow loads?

I'm just guessing, but Panther took out a HUGE chunk from our first settlement. All those fees for physical and drug tests add up. Figure he also had 40% advance and that knocks it down to what he got.

    slow loads?

Dave, the 8 macro doesn't show all of the locations in range... don't know why. This morning we dropped off in NH and the computer wanted us to go to Albany (200+ miles for $33 HAHAHAHA YEAH RIGHT!!!). I did an 8 macro for 300 miles and Albany didn't even show up. Also, dispatch and contractor...

    anyone keeping busy

Though it's been slow this week thus far, in a 10 day span ending Saturday morning, we ran over 4000 miles. Does seem like we're doing more sitting between loads. Guess our acceptance rating will be going up a bit ;)

    Sleeper option

Does anyone know of another company who does sleepers like that? WOWWWWWW I agree with Bob about using the area above the cab for storage. The old international eagle condo cabovers did the same thing. Bob, it doesn't surprise me that you had so many electrical problems. Bunk-o-junk is...

    PM's

Bushrod, I had the same problem. Freightliner in Ypsi and Dearborn were totally crooked. Arrow in Detroit (just north of the bridge) is reliable but more expensive... 200+. I tend to trust the Monroe Freightliner. There's a small shop in Dearborn Heights called Davenport truck and trailer repair...

    Argosy

The argosy is definitely the way I'm going with my next purchase. The only drawback I see is having to tip the cab to get to do engine repair, the benefits vastly outway it. Though, because of that, I don't think LDB's toilet idea would wash nyuk nyuk ;) I was told last night by a truck I was...

    chance to start over?

I had the same problem you did in t/ts. If you don't mind being gone, and still like the idea of driving on the road, expediting is the place to be. You may not be happy about the gut you'll put on tho :P

Anyone out there with TST Expedite???????

My dad's neighbors run for them. When I first started following them in August, they were running like crazy. Now it's slow moving... they sit more than they'd like. Things may pick up again for them. It is that time of year afterall.

    Respect...

Haha, Broom... way to shmooze :7 I agree to a large extent to what everyone is saying here. But I also respect a great deal of hearsay on EO, coming from drivers who never worked for certain companies. I heard complaints that TryHours didn't pay 100% of their FSC, and I confronted the...

The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Murkur, I hafta disagree with your logic on that one. I too used to think 100% would make them give you junk, but I've gotten more as a team with a 60% approval. We don't turn down reasonable runs... a 300 mile is fine n dandy with limited dh. We'll take the occasional mini, but won't dh to bfe...

    A Positive Note

I had the same experience when I left them. Panther removed their equipment for me and boxed it up, and we happened to drive by Express-1 while on a load. Larry Pickles was extatic that I brought the qualcomm in and told me he wished me the best. They do make you feel like family there, I only...

met my first panther 2 driver

You don't have to. Just study the cdl book and call a local testing place. It cost my co-driver $100 to get approved for his cdl, and I taught him myself.

    Layover after a NYC run...

We're a team, Dave :) I'm not knocking CT, cause we did get two runs outta there. Just curious as to where others would sit. Dispatch offered Jamaica Queens <sn>, but I knew Hartford was better from what you said before. I'd do it again for the kind of run we got outta there. Besides... if...

    Layover after a NYC run...

Where are some good places to layover after going to NYC? I heard Hartford was great, but after being told by dispatch that they avg 4 runs a day, we sat 2 days. I would've left after 1, but to where? We ended up getting a dry run, then a run to AR, so it ended up well. Where would you layover...

    Fifteen minutes of fame.

When I say research, I mean find out the info they don't give you. For example, when we got a load going to Lawrence, NY, I checked the atlas to make sure it wasn't on Long Island. Sure enough it was. Check out all the info to know what you're getting into. If not, you may be taking a mini from...

    Fifteen minutes of fame.

That was me who said it. As Leo said, it is about accepting a load from Panther. I said to use the 15 min to research the load and make sure you know what you're getting into. One example is that I jumped on a load before I knew there was no surcharge. I ran almost 200 miles trying to find this...

    Attn: Panther II drivers

We've had extremely good luck with Sprint. Free roaming was only $5, and Canada is .30/min. From what I've heard from other drivers, they have the best reception too. We rarely lose a signal.
