RE: Here is one
Just be cautious. With the weight of the box and the sleeper you may not be able to carry much freight without being overloaded. Even if your gvwr is 10,000#, if the actual weight of the vehicle with the freight is over 10.001# they can get you for not logging as well as being...
Time will tell on the diesel prices. I am very concerned that when they bring out the new ultra low sulfur diesel to comply with the 2007 EPA standards their will be supply issues that will spike the diesel prices. Everytime the government sticks it's nose into something in order to save us...
How to tell if your wife is cheating on you with a Swift driver:
If you come home and catch them in the act and it takes him an hour to back out of your driveway.
Several of the UAW plants are designated as "dock-high only" which means no matter if its a 10 pound box it has to be shipped on a dock-high vehicle. They claim it is something to do with safety but I say it has more to do with whiny union dock workers not wanting to have to go outside in the...
Rich,
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I met you this year at MATS and enjoyed talking to you. Thank God you were able to make it to the hospital safely. Like the others have said "please stay in touch" and let us know how you are doing. Your contribution to this site is irreplacable. Good...
Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. The freight you are carrying (US) should have no correlation to the freight you are not carrying (Canada). If you are willing to forego the revenue the Canadian run would have paid that should be your only penalty. You should not make less on the runs you are...
I also read somewhere they are changing the GVWR. The 9990 has been replaced with a 10,140. So if you want to keep it under 10,001 you have to go with the 8550# as there is nothing else in betweent the 8550 and the 10,140. Thanks alot Dr Z.
RE: GMC 3500 with 16' Box or a Sprinter, which is
Just out of curiosity...how did you get those pictures to show up? I tried copy/pasting and linking to the actual website but couldn't get them to appear. I do have a bit of a computer handicap however.
: )
RE: GMC 3500 with 16' Box or a Sprinter, which is
I found another link. Try www.bobbtrucks.com. Click on "Inventory" then click on "vans". Scroll to the bottom of the van page and it is the next to the last vehicle on pg. 1.
RE: GMC 3500 with 16' Box or a Sprinter, which is
Sorry. I tried typing the actual web address to the photos and it still wouldn't come through. Just gave red x's. So I guess you will just have to go to the bobb chevrolet website and find it. The photos were on autobase.com but I could not...
RE: GMC 3500 with 16' Box or a Sprinter, which is
Hey, mileeater I found another truck that may be of interest to you. Unfortunately I could not copy and paste the photos but here is the website for the photos. It is a 2005 Chevy 3500 express cutaway with single rear wheels. It has a flat...
RE: GMC 3500 with 16' Box or a Sprinter, which is
The dually pickups pulling trailers commercially are already required to log due to the GVWR of the truck alone (at least 10,500)not to mention the combined rating of the truck and trailer. Most of these guys are lucky to be under the CDL ratio...
RE: GMC 3500 with 16' Box or a Sprinter, which is
Make sure you measure the length of the box. I saw on a couple of sites that were selling the used Penske GMC 3500 cubes that stated the actual length of the box was only like 15.1' but was being marketed as a 16 footer. The 12 footers were...
Is that the same as DJ Express?? I just saw one of their trucks this morning. A Ford E-350 cube van. It had C&M Transport decals crossed off on the box with the DJ Express decals on the front doors. It was parked at the TA IndyWest I-70 59mm.
RE: GMC 3500 with 16' Box or a Sprinter, which is
That would work. What I would really like to do is take a 2003 or newer Ram 3500 Quad Cab Cummins Turbo Diesel single rear wheel with a GVW of 9900. Remove the pickup box, stretch the frame and put a 12-14' long dock high box on it. Then get...
RE: GMC 3500 with 16' Box or a Sprinter, which is
The only dual rear wheel Aerocells I have seen on the GMC cutaway have had a 12000# GVWR. I don't know if they could make one out of the 10,000# GVWR and still give you enough payload capability to make it worth your while. I would like to...
1997 Dodge Ram 3500 with 12' cube. Dock high with jackstands. 5.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel.
Seems to me that the most common size skid I see these days are the 45x48 varieties. I rarely see a 48x48 anymore.
