Two companies come to mind. Bolt and Expediter Services. Both have a history of being newbie friendly and seem to have owners in search of drivers. In fact, ES is a fleet owner itself.

As long as you are in good health, age isn't an issue. I know a few guys started after retirement.

My advice to you is, first realise being an expediter is running a business, not just a job. There is much to learn. It is not just turn key and drive. With your limited funds, find an owner to drive for. Learn the business. Learn how to find loads. Learn how to budget. Spend a couple of years...
