Anyone know about moving Medical freight?

I know a bit about em. In the Detroit area, they always seem to be advertising for jobs. This one route is 6 hours a day, 900 miles per week, & pays $575 week. You need a mini van to deliver. Those numbers would have ya thinking you'd make about $400/week after gas for 30 hours of work...

    Wrong Turn!!!

I think Cherri's Garmin is here illegally. I saw it protesting a lil to vehemently when she tried to take it to Arizona.

    Comdata ripoffs

I'm w/ Eddie & the ones who don't use it. Back in the day I used it not realizing the fees involved. Ouch!!! More recently we got paid on Comdata. $1 to get your paycheck. Not much ya could do about it. I didn't like it. I'd never use the thing for anything other than getting my paycheck...

    Pretty neat stuff-

Pepsi has a new bottle coming out. This could lower the fuel consumption of this country. By how much, I'm not sure. It's a fully bio degradable bottle rather than the plastic ones currently used...

    The South

I don't really understand what you're asking here. You'll have to forgive me though. I really don't understand the effeminate bully language. Look, you obviously need a company you can say "YES" to & that they're always right. If I'm not mistaken, you had a company & then had to drive...

    Just another example of injustice

Also in reply to Goslow. I think busses, vehicles w/ trailers, & RVs should have lower speed limits too. In fairness to the RVs, most of the RV drivers I've seen actually do seem to go a bit slower on their own. Maybe because it's their $$ invested. Some of the bus drivers that have flown...

    Just another example of injustice

Hate?? On the speed limit issue I 100% agree w/ you. I used to think that trucks & cars should have the same speed limit. Now that I've had time to see how it works w/ equal speed limits, I'm in favor of a lower speed for trucks. At least in the major cities. I'd be fine w/ the same speed in...

    The South

I can only go by my experiences. I've never gotten a run back w/ any company when going west of the Mississippi. If you're w/ a company that gets ya out of those places on a regular basis, then yea it makes sense to go there. For whatever reason, most companies aren't as good out there...

    The South

How far south? Fla is generally a slower area for freight. Texas is a place some do well in, others not so well. There are exceptions to this, but generally ya wanna stay east of the Mississippi & north of I-20. Again, that's not true for everyone, but more a rule of thumb.

Asking for load/rate over qc before taking

You crack yourself up? We had thought that was a turtle shell, not an egg shell. ok, that was lame, but I'm not erasing it. It was the first thing that came to mind, as feeble as it may have been. My only hope now is I'm not gonna get "snapped" at by Turtle.

Asking for load/rate over qc before taking

Dennis, you probably more than most could understand what my mom is going thru then. She's 78, but didn't retire until this past October. And that was only cuz of budget cuts they closed the library she worked at. She's going bananas right about now. Check that, she's on a cruise right...

Asking for load/rate over qc before taking

Totally agree w/ Greg here. I think this is in line w/ that other thread, too. There's a few companies that ya can trust & just take the run w/out worrying about your pay. There's a few where ya better know what you're making before ya decide to take it. A lot of this industry is trial &...

Which State is best to relocate to?

I'm w/ you on this one. I visited Orlando a couple of years ago for a week during the winter. Traffic was so bad that I was like "F-it, I'd rather deal w/ the snow." :D

Looking Down the Road - Again

Best of wishes to ya. Definately sorry about the job losses. I'm not sure if you 2 worked at the same school, but one nice thing about doing this is you'll get to spend a lot of time together. Be well

Which State is best to relocate to?

I don't know much about Indiana. I'd think Ohio would be the best of the 3 for getting freight. It's centrally located so a lot of times you'd pass by your house. Michigan would be the place ya could probably by the least expensive house if you were looking to buy. There's some decent...

    Approx what should this pay?

I'm glad I made this post for another reason now. What transponder? I'm guessing not the same one you'd use for the turnpikes down here or the 407 in Toronto.

Asking for load/rate over qc before taking

I'm w/ Dennis on that. I rarely ask the rate. The reason I should is more to make sure the checks line up w/ the amounts I had made. The last time I asked was actually after the run. It was a Flint to Lansing run, 72 miles. I asked what that run that I just took paid & they said $100. The...

How many days are u sitting at one location

What you're going thru is part of what many go thru & that's why in some cases there seems to be that eternal search for the perfect company. I've always been sort of a homing pigeon. If I was getting runs I'd be fine going from point A to B to C, etc. If the runs weren't there often I'd...

    What about Metro???

If you mean Metro Parcel & Freight out of Michigan, I worked for em & they're a good company. For me personally, I wanted local & where I live made it difficult to get runs. They told me many times if I moved to the Detroit area things would be a lot better. At that time it would have meant 2...

    Approx what should this pay?

A simple, informative answer. On the first part I'm w/ ya & already there. I'd kind of ran some numbers in my head about bridge fares, how much fuel I'd need to purchase in Canada- depending on how far I went- & 407 tolls, if those came into play. I came up w/ a number about what you're paid...
