    WWW....Who Wears Watches

I used to wear one all the time. Broke a nice once while making an arrest (when I was a LEO). Stopped wearing one about 2.5 years ago when battery died! Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

That’s generally the art of negotiating between the carrier and brokers. The rates vary! Especially interesting when broker will not budge on price and the load doesn’t move and you start to see the price increase upwards! Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

Yep I took care of the driver for his time and efforts. Actually he wasn’t affected too bad because he told me if he hadn’t had anything heading to Indy he would’ve just deadheaded home. It just so happened he dropped 12 miles (next town east) from where pick up was! Sent from my iPhone...

No not really! He was very apologetic for helping him out with the rush delivery. He asked me what I wanted, for our troubles. I did not want to take advantage of the situation. I like to build personal/business relationships, whether it be my direct shipping customers, the guys that drive...

Maybe VSprinter is referring to “spot market” rates. Now freight lanes like those fluctuate. Example being the same type of load/freight. All coming out of Chicago.....one goes to Laredo and one goes to Miami, and one goes to Seattle. Now let’s say all are between 1800-2200 miles give or take...

Where are they when you need them! lol! The biggest headache is particular shipper when he calls in for a truck, wants it there within 10 minutes!!!! Or they’ll call someone else! Trying to get him to understand in reality it’s not a perfect world! It’s work in progress! Sent from my...

Yeah the grace period exists. But I find that with certain Brokers who say authority must be active consecutively for 3-6 months. Then are some Brokers who don’t have such requirements and will use you if you’re brand new. It’s about they (brokers) want to make sure you’re financially stable...

Yeah Don, that probably would make an excellent third theory. I’m probably going to stir the pot here with this next statement but it makes a lot of sense. My earlier post I was being ‘dryly’ sarcastic. I truly believe why you see a lot of vans unmarked is because if involved in any type of...

Two theories here! 1. They just don’t want ‘Big Brother’ knowing what they do! 2. They just don’t want to mess up their truck with permanent signage! Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

I just got my authority last September and all I run is cargo vans, sprinters, and small cube trucks. PM me and I’ll advise you what you’ll need and won’t need. Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

It has single rear wheels so it probably is under 10,000lbs. *Not sure I like the sleeper set up having to climb up to your bed. But to each his own! Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

The white van pictured, I was told could handle a max of 2800lbs. So like Turtle stated if it’s right at 10,000lbs. Anything over is going make it log and scale. Now the yellow truck, I remember hearing the earlier models in the 90’s were rated under 10,000lbs but couldn’t carry much weight...

My point exactly and when I was told it was hauling 9 stackable skids. If that van is right at 10,000. I have a hard time that 9 stackable skids is 2800lbs. It would be over the 10,000lbs rule and need to log and scale. Next concern.....where is the DOT and MC numbers posted on van? I can’t...
