    Companies and Teams

Dave said He does Not have much trouble showing that fleet drivers earn more than the Owner of the truck? That's interesting. Steve said he doesn't have to run a ton of miles to make a living. No, nobody does. He says he's stated many times, his miles as a team are "MOST LIKELY" Less...

    The T/T Advantage

Panther and FedEx again, both saying the same thing. But, Thank you. Basically, stick to regular freight for solo 18 work. Go team in expediting 18's to make money. Team in anything makes more money, that's a no brainer. No other 18 wheel operators (from other co.'s than the 2 above) want...

    Companies and Teams

if you stay out for 3 months and only get/go home for 2 days and whine about it... here's the cold truth... that is your own fault. I would run out for 2 months and take no less than 4 days off. I know expediting is about revenue, and the miles are far less than in regular freight, even...

    Companies and Teams

That was interesting, you can always tell a Newbie. I have to say by the posts he's put up he's so wet behind the ears I was about to toss him a towel. I prefer running solo myself... but it is a well known fact that teams make more - Dude, if you read this - here's the deal (bare in mind...

    The T/T Advantage

Ok, Steve... I have a question within this post... is it worth it for a contract driver like myself to get on with an o/o who has an 18 wheeler with an expedited co. besides FedEx or PII??? Versus a straight truck? Am I going to make more money as a solo in an 18 wheeler driving for an owner...

    The T/T Advantage

It is rare that you can read posts regarding T/T's on EO... Most on here are straight truck and cargo van/Sprinter drivers/owners. It is also rare that you see posts from other T/T operators, other than FedEx and PII. I still have yet to see a post from a T/T driver/operator with other...

    Shower / bathroom in Sleeper?

Regarding filling water tanks, the main place to get water for custom sleepers and busses is at Flying J's. But, There's a kicker here, don't fuel up front. Use the truck fuel islands to fuel with a truck nozzle and faster pumps. The water at J Birds is usually labeled good, one is fresh water...

    Truck Driver stories

Ok Bruno, to get things started on this... how about 3 True stories in 1 reply... 1st, when I drove expediter I had a run that was supposed to be a hand load with lumpers. Got to p/u and No Lumpers. then the terminal dock workers couldn't find the load. They ended up unloading 1/2 of a 28...

    Freightliner Columbia vs Classic

I'm curious about that Cascadia Freightliner and how it serves the driver over it's little brothers the Century and Columbia's. I haven't seen many on the road, but I have seen some on the road... The Cascadia's and the new International's with the mid-roof sleeper and big sleeper window seem to...

    thoughts on Nations Express

WOW, I'm curious now... and have to ask... What about being a driver for an O/O at Nations??? I've thought about goin' to drive for them, in either an 18 wheeler or a straight truck for an Owner Operator that pays the fuel- very hard to find an owner now that pays the fuel. I don't...

    Isuzu City Trucks

Tryin' to stay off that big road, it's not workin' too well. I still run busses PT, Passenger mostly - I still dabble with occasional weekend stuff in the private bus sector. I can't resist that quick gravy money. Construction slowed way down, so I got outa the mixer. I was getting tired of...

    Freightliner Columbia vs Classic

Woodman asked what the difference is between the Century and the Columbia. Basically from a cosmetic standpoint the only real difference is the hood/headlight assembly area's. There is the computer difference too. Piper said the Century has a slight aerodynamic edge over the Columbia... Which...

    Isuzu City Trucks

My 2 cents on them... to emphasize the notion of keeping them in town... years ago I drove an NPR 4 days a week long distance in FL and it does beat you up. They're great in tight quarters and inner city work - but long distance runs tend to rattle them apart and take it's toll on these type...

need advice on buying a straight truck

To RdTrpn-Original Poster My 2 cents... not too much to add to this thread... most have said what you should do in the above replies. However, you've said you do not know too much about truck deals. I've driven for many deals. Here's the thing, you say 2 axle truck - Why? for costs? those are a...

    Trucks do wear out, right?

Driving Territory? Scrolling real quick I did not see anybody mention the area you'd be driving in... though it was said in a nutshell when it was mentioned if you'd be driving locally or OTR... however I would like to also add that the part of the country you'll be driving in also makes a...

    I miss the old layout!

New Layout Hey there everybody! I like the bold new look... There's just one thing... on the message board... I like being able to see the 1st sentance or 2 of all the posts... that tells me quickly what each is about... the way it is with the new system you have to move the mouse to each post...

You know what would be cool

Having a slide-out on a truck sounds nice... however, I'd hate to be in it when it's slid out and a tired driver decides to zip in to sleep beside you... think of the damage that could occur to both trucks and people in both trucks. That's why you haven't seen them already. You would have to...

    Panther tractors

In Response to the poster named BigGuy: I got people to respond... you might not have liked how I did it... But, it worked. It's not what you say, it's how you say it... go back and read the 1st FEW posts Before you posted. There's an old saying that I don't think you know... "If your...

    Water holding tank

Another tip, somebody above mentioned they keep towels by the tank to insulate... if for some nutty reason your tank does spring a leak... the towels go from insulating to absorbing mode. Make sure there's no electrical sockets (of any kind) that could come in contact with the wet towels...

    Panther tractors

Nobody responded with any info to answer the questions, therefore I'm guessing that they are not "making" money... which means any kind of "profit". That's not good.
