    Cap & Trade

It is not a fine day when you learn that our open and transparent EPA recently quashed a report that would have at the very least caused those in Congress to ponder the underpinnings of Cap and Trade. From Powerline, here's the article with emails from one of the administrators of the EPA...

Pelosi pushing for vote on Cap and Trade on Friday

What a way to run a government. You would think that with all the hoopla about Cap and Trade that there would actually be a bill, i.e., a document that purported to define what the House of Representatives would be voting on. You would be wrong in Ms. Pelosi's world. How do they get away with...

Pelosi pushing for vote on Cap and Trade on Friday

From Stop The ACLU, here's what the nimrods in the House who voted for this bill didn't read before they voted on it: Posted on June 27, 2009 I made the mistake of going over to Thomas and skimming through the majority of the climate change OMG WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE IF THIS ISN’T PASSED...

    Cap & Trade

It passed the House. The bill now has to go to the Senate. Might be more difficult to get 60 votes in the Senate. Time to call your Senator and tell him/her what you think about the bill.

Pelosi pushing for vote on Cap and Trade on Friday

So much for the House of Representatives, as one senior member of the Republican party said: "Tonight, 50 Democrats lost their jobs and this bill is dead in the Senate." This bill still has to get past the Senate. Start calling your Senators now. There's still a chance to kill this...

Pelosi pushing for vote on Cap and Trade on Friday

Quote: "And of course Congress is its own "stakeholder." An economy-wide tax under the cover of saving the environment is the best political moneymaker since the income tax. Obama officials are already telling the press, sotto voce, that climate revenues might fund universal health care and...

More from Powerline on the cost of Cap and Trade: He Thinks You're Stupid June 23, 2009 Posted by John at 7:24 PM In his press conference today, President Obama talked about the cap-and-trade energy tax that the Democrats are trying to ram through Congress. Obama's nose grew a couple...

Pelosi pushing for vote on Cap and Trade on Friday

Warren Buffett has commented: In a CNBC interview today, prominent Obama supporter and economic advisor Warren Buffett blasted Speaker Pelosi’s national energy tax, calling it a “huge tax” and “fairly regressive” that will harm “an awful lot of people.” See video:The Weekly Standard

Pelosi pushing for vote on Cap and Trade on Friday

If this is passed, the cost of everything that is energy related will be going up. Estimates are that the average family will be spending an additional $4,000 per year in energy related costs if the bill is passed. Time to call your representatives and explain to them that we will vote them...

    Acorn and the Census

Probably pay off a good portion of the public debt if we all just sent in blank form with a $100 check. That would be interesting.

North Korea ship being tailed by a US Navy destroyer

If you were given the authority to fix the U.N., what would you do to fix it? First, you would have to define the problem(s). As Turtle pointed out, there are many. What would you do first, second, third?

North Korea ship being tailed by a US Navy destroyer

Doug, In your personal opinion, with today's communications systems, couldn't countries negotiate without bloodshed without the U.N.? Particularly, the U.S., China, and Russia. My guess is that the President can set up a secure virtual private network between his office and the leaders of...

North Korea ship being tailed by a US Navy destroyer

My cryptodiranian friend, that was awesome. Thanks for the U.N. historical background. I agree they have been an abject failure - basically a debating society with too many mixed motives. Strange that the U.S. still harbors any hope of guiding the debate.

What would it take to get Americans or Canadians this riled up?

Here is the link to a slideshow of photos taken after the Iranian elections. The pictures are mesmerizing. It's interesting to see the number of women who are in the streets - some with headscarves, many without. I wonder what it would take to get Americans or Canadians this pumped up about...

    Where's that Republican pride?

Ah, the invisible comes to light. Thank you. A thought question for you. If a registered Democrat believed in and actively pursued the following: 1. After 9/11, was 100% for the Iraq War, as was 80% of the country 2. Was pro life, perhaps, a staunch fourth generation Catholic whose family...

    Where's that Republican pride?

I read back. Your explanations about the GOP, Republicans, and Republican koolade (sic) must be deleted or typed in invisible ink. Not being a secret agent with a magic ring, I can't make the invisible ink visible. I truly am interested in how you define being a Republican, whatever...
