    Paycheck issue

Not being born with a silver spoon is a problem. Would it be too much trouble to change to the company bank, deposit the check on monday there and then have the wife write a check at home out of that account and deposit it into your home bank? I know these means keeping track of two accounts but...

    Blown Engine Help

My thoughts exactly. Blew up while THEY were driving due to engine overspeed. They downshifted and took out the bottom end. Get the Attorney and if you are lucky enough to have a loan on the truck let them know and they can put pressure on also! Bankers have a lot of clout (and great lawyers!)...

    Cannot say enough

I've been doing this expediting thing for 3 years now and have not caught the "junk" once YET. Had food poisoning twice though! Transferring loads in a rest area is intreresting. Needless to say most of the food nowdays comes from my truck rather than the truck stops. So, what's up with the...

    QUESTION FROM A POSSIBLE NEWBIE

It all boils down to what your wants, desires, and talents are. I know 16 year olds (honestly) who have more driving ability than some of the 18-wheeler pilots out there. Some of us need schooling - this is not just something you can take an outsiders advice on. I still remember driving hints...

    Navigation system?

Microsoft Streets and Trips and the big ol' laminated trucker atlas are what's in my truck. The software gets better every year - used to be almost useless in Indy for example. I always compare the driver instructions from the QC unit with the laptop and the map, usually 2 of the three will...

    Load Bars

Hey Broompilot, I carry tension bars (to go where the erails aren't) and rope for such occasions. I've even secured a single-pallet tall load (you know the ones, expensive but won't lay up against a wall nicely) with this setup, just tension the bar tight against the walls and run the rope from...

    Elite Expediting

I agree, If you have to lie to customs don't go there in the first place - waiting around for a ministers' pardon or whatever would probably teach you a lesson in right and wrong. Sounds to me like the freight is fine with the outfit but the business decision to sit for 5 days was a bad one...

Any good expediting companys in MN?

Remer, MN here. Get-together sounds great but there's so many of us we would affect the market if we all shut down at once!

Any good expediting companys in MN?

I didn't realize there were so many of us based out of MN. Thought I was the only "outlander" in this crazy business!

    Why Drivers Quit

Tom has a great point here, I wish the dispatchers would understand it better. A dry run or a lie or misinformation leading to a bad run are all devastating to the time we solo drivers have available to us for the next 10 hours or more of our work week. We all know as solo drivers that just 1 or...

    New EO Posting Policy

A big "touche'" for Ace. I wish for all of us to understand that simple basic concept. I know I get a lot more out of threads containing true emotions - good or bad.

    Need info on TSES

Hey Simon, have you noticed that nobody is talking about tses? The silence is deafening! Back to your original question would be nice, huh? Maybe they have become a best-kept secret. Hey out there tses contractees...what's up? I'll put in another 2 cents worth if you don't mind, P2 is where I...

    Need info on TSES

Hey Simon, FYI, no fudgig goin' on here and air freight or not if you're available for loads and in the business long enough to know where to sit you WILL be busy. It's not that difficult, average 400 mile loads or so for 5 or 6 days a week with accessorial pay for things such as DH, layover...

    Need info on TSES

This would be interesting to know. Personally I was burned so bad by tses that I'm afraid they would have had to clean the entire joint out nearly 100% before I would suggest anyone go for it. That goes for everything from the recruiter who forgets who you are to the oppresive Nazi-istic...
