Teams can't run out of hours unless they hit their restart. It's nice to know panther will pickup the tow bill. I am pretty should if your truck broke down you'd be paying it though. He was probably detained at the shipper, panther is sticklers about that, you must log it as on duty time (some...

    Odd Dispatch

Like when you accept a load because dispatch says Omaha NE is a hot bed of freight.. And Contractor support says "If they consider 3 loads a month a hot bed" or "well, I know you just came from Chicago and are in Omaha, but I suggest Chicago to move to" (I didn't by the way, accepted the empty...

    Hazmat signs

It is the shippers responsabilty to make sure you have the proper placards. It can get really interesting if your have more than one type of material unboard or if the material poses more than one type of threat. But in the end it is the shippers responsabilty to provide needed placards. You can...

You can't strech the hours with Panther. The QC knows and the saftey supervisor will win the fight with you. Always.. Panther will also tow your butt to the revciver if they can't switch out the load (IE a full D unit) They of course will present you with a bill for the tow and the amount will...

    Odd Dispatch

The rep? he is there to awnser our questions. And when it comes to what dispatch says. He tells me the truth. When I asked about loads in NE he said we see 5 a month. I doubt there was any sugar coating there. Dispatch said 3-4 a day. He's also corrected payroll problems (I had a pro that did...

    Observation on the road

When I went through orentation they said that Panther would soon over take Fedex as number one. Perhaps now they have.

Anybody have an opinion about ALL-TYPES?

400 miles a day, 400 miles a week.. it all depends on the freight. 1000 to 2500 a week is what your going to get most of the time. But some weeks it could be none, others it could be 4000... Manage your money for the weeks when miles are low, and save it when the miles are high. I ran in to a...

    canada

All-types does not do canada, but if you sign with them you'll go broke quickly and hate me for mentioning their name. Panther will sign you but it will cost you 2 cents a mile (.75) Why don't you want to go to canada? I don't go because they want 1000 bucks for a permit. I stole 10 dollars...

    Raised roof

My van came with it. Afraid all I know is a place in Allentown did it. The previous owner had Bethlaham ford do all the work to it so I am sure they refered him to the company that did it. Some advice on a raised roof. Go high enough to stand in it (or whats the point) have the rear doors...

    Oh Deer!

Deer are everywhere. They need to extend the season. To give you an idea of how bad they are I'll give you this story. My parents live walking distance from Downtown Minneapolis on 394 (the penn ave exit if you know the area) there is a city owned park near their house that is several 1000...

    Odd Dispatch

Companies are starting to want a truck in every express area. Even if it is a area that *might* generate 1 load a day. As a driver we have to be VERY careful about where we are told to move to. And ask LOTS of questions. How many loads a day, how many loads past 3 weeks, how many trucks are...

    Odd Dispatch

I know a parking lot full of fex-ex van in Toledo that will kill someone when they find out about this. Some had been sitting there for days and where ready to take what ever came across the QC.. However, for you, GREAT LOAD. I thought my WI to NE was a good one.

    Cargo van's w/ over 200,000/mi

Some do.. Some don't.. Panther requires a 96 or newer when you start. Heres the kicker, as long as you don't have many failures due to break down, you can keep driving it. I ran in to a guy the other day driving a 92 Ford. Some of the older vans in the fleet are starting to look really sad and...

Anyone Else Get Trapped In Michigan?

They where not local runs worth a darn. Most where 30-50 miles away from where I was, and 40-50 miles away from a express center. Basically, during my stay in the fine state of MI I paid .30 more a gallon than OH or IN for fuel. I clicked off 825 miles on my van and got paid for 532. I finely...

    sprinter drivers

Right now 500 miles a day in anything is a dream.. Figure 1000-1500 a week. I just had a 400 mile week. Most sprinter owners I think sleep langth wise (IE head to the front, toes to the rear) sprinters are rather narrow. The better question to ask, is WHO is signing sprinters. I know some of...

    Operating Temperature for CAT 3126

Your T-stat probably does not open till 190 ;) Your doing just fine. worry if it gets above 220 for long periods of time. When you really work it in the heat it probably will crawl up last 205-210 until your at the top of the hill or up to highway speeds.
