Id go with the Columbia's with Detroits or Cummins. As a fleet owner you want ease of repair and access to parts to lessen downtime. All newer trucks I own are in the shop way more then the pre-emission Columbias and FLD's. Drivers like nice rigs but they also want to.be driving not in the shop...

Check for oil in the fuel too. C7's go through injectors. The just had to replace all 6 in an owner op truck. We sent the injectors out for testing and they were all bad.

Find a company with lots of local/regional.freight that pays straight percentage not by the mile. Being a parent of young children and expediting can be tough to balance but can be done IF you find the right carrier. Look into a CDL cheater truck, stay away from vans...tough on sprinters this...

This is the worst I have seen it for recruiting owner ops and drivers. I am not surprised Dynamite 1 cant find a good driver for that truck. We are all competing against companies hiring drivers as employees with all the bennies!
