    Oil

As general comments... Synthetic = longer drain intervals If he is not interested in long drain intervals he could go back to conventional. Whatever he does... have him start doing oil analysis if he is not already. The numbers tell the story and provide advance warning of potential...

    how much is fudged

Unfortunately, a lot of things in trucking are "fudged". :) It becomes a minefield for those new folks entering into the industry to the point that it is pretty much mandatory to seek out mentoring from someone with significant experience to avoid the pitfalls along the way.

How Do You Remove Graffiti From a Truck?

Lacquer thinner is a strong solvent. If you decide to try it be very careful. Try in area that does not show to see the effects on the finish first. If no effect or acceptable effect then try on the more visible graffiti areas. Where to obtain? Anyplace that sells paint should have it.

    Newbie? Oldbie?

I think the trick is to always consider oneself a "newbie". That way one keeps an open mind and the possibility of learning. Staying a "newbie" also keeps your future options flexible as you don't become "old" and "set in your ways". :D

    Newbie with questions

I would not suggest you start out in being an O/O. You will find there are fleet owners who can put you into one of their trucks and get your rolling. Keep your debt load low as possible while getting started. You can drive for someone else while "learning the ropes" and later on if...

    Sleeper Questions

Dualies... Tandems... like someone else already said they provide the ability to carry more weight. You will also find the straight line tracking down the road much better with dualies than single tires.

    Need Opinions PLZ!!!!!

Arguably it is harder going independent than signing on with a company; however, having said that I would rather be in control of events than waiting for the "big company" to call us up with load offers. We've been running independent since the beginning and would not go any other way. Please...

    Put a shower/toilet in? hard?

Liftgate makes the climbing easier. :D A reefer on the go during the winter takes care of the freezing. :D Ah ha, finally a way to justify those items when there is no other way! Someone else mentioned about no access when the box is packed with freight... need an outside access door...

    Your Truck Was Observed...

I suppose driving 53 in a 55 zone is not pushing the limits? :D

    CDL-A College degree!

Looks interesting, but... -Ask how much time you get to spend behind the wheel. Note there is a difference between time in the truck and time operating the truck. -Ask what the policy is if you fail to obtain your license the first time out and subsequent attempts. -Speak with former...

Would you be willing to shut down??

No, we would not shut down. The hurt: Our customers are loyal; however, we also realize they have a business to run and may end up moving their business somewhere else never to return. I'm not willing to risk that and the breech of contract suits that could be filed against us.

    No Complaining

I remember seeing a spot about this on the TV a while back. Apparently it started as a small in-parish idea and mushroomed to the point they needed to order more bracelets. A slightly different technique is to carry a counter and each time one finds themselves engaged in a certain behavior to...

    Finally Some Good News

Very good news indeed! On another note I find it somewhat shocking that they chose to inform you of this via a letter rather than a phone call or in-person visit.

Something I had to figure out the hard way

Realizing that I had left an open coffee in the cab at the same moment as I watched the rig reach the maximum tilt on the tipping platform to empty the wood chips out of the trailer. One only makes this mistake once. :D
