The Fcar can read the UD trucks with J08E motor, I have it and in the menu click Hino for the obd style connector on driver side. The round pin on the passenger side I think connects to UD in the menu.

And the 2005+ UD had Hino engines installed in them, mine is a J08E, even my diagnostic tool has to go to Hino to communicate. I’m just thinking that a Hino with a j08E will at least give me an idea of the wiring

What’s the next thing to consider, I can’t communicate with my Computer. I also seem to have power going to the ecu. Where would u check next after looking at the grounds, fuses relays and knowing u have no dash lights coming on etc

By the way the first time I posted - I bought the truck and found that the actuator electronics were Fried ! That’s why the first time p0045 was a nightmare, because I had to replace the whole turbo.. but I think now what I’m finding is the new actuator was fine and I belive the guy who had it...

. I cleaned the turbo and was able the grease the actuator and get it working. My truck runs great now just put it all back together. So In the future here’s what you can do on the UD limo problem, first thing is have someone turn your key to the 2nd position and see if the actuator is moving -...

So far I was able to take the actuator part off the turbo as well check the guns and it looks fine, actually looks perfect.. not sure where the problem is yet

By the way the FCAR 506 scanner is 230$ on eBay and it will read UD codes but for my 1800hd (2006 - I had to go under UD then medium and then Hino in the scanner menu and it connected to the computer and reads the codes.

By the way I had to buy the FCAR 506 scanner on eBay just to figure out what the code was. It did read it but under UD > then Medium > then HINO it won’t read any codes with the UD settings, and under Hino the amount it can do is minimal compared to other vehicles

This is exact thing I’m going through now with my 2007 ud 1800hd and we did use a scanner that had lots of ud but for bigger ud and the Jo8e engine was listed under Hino 268 and it read the codes
