Honestly it's going to be a grueling process... If you want to run under your own authority, you will need to get an MC#, get insurance, contact pretty much every major expedite broker and ask how you can work with them, and start there.
Hello all,
What happened to the BH Xpress guy...? All praise and all thanks is to God... I am and we are still around.
I can honestly say that posting on here was very very VERY discouraging. You get lots of ":mad:YOU'RE GOING TO CRASH AND BURN LIKE EVERYONE BEFORE YOU AND EVERYONE AFTER YOU...
I'm not asking for a customer list. I'm asking for advise as to what type of companies to contact, where to look, etc.
If you want to help, then help. If not, no need to reply. :)
Have a good day sir.
BH Xpress started up in 2014 and we're up to 10 Sprinters now. I want to begin acquiring our own customers but have no clue where to begin. We don't have a broker license. I assume I should begin with small, local companies to where most of our vans are located and expand from there. Anyways...
I feel like it undermines the company when drivers start to even look for loads. Drivers should NEVER be bidding on loads. One obvious thing that can go wrong is 2 drivers could bid on the same load and get it. Bad idea all around. If a driver doesn't have faith in his company, then he should...
I did the math with one of our OOs who was considering driving our Sprinter instead of purchasing his own. Once you account for gas, tolls, van maintenance, repairs, etc. it's really not that big of a difference.
We are an expedite carrier. We have 10 vans and sometimes get stuck in the West for days at a time. I was thinking about signing up on regular truck loadboards and trying to find partials that can fit our Sprinter vans. Is it worth the cost, time, and hassle? Your thoughts please?!
Things have been terrible slow lately. When loads do come out, competition drives the prices way low. Loads that would pay $2500-3000 6 months ago are now paying under $2000... We've told our O/O's to be open to lower pricing, as it's the only way to keep the vans moving and make any amount of...
We have 10 vans in our fleet. I'm trying to find a way to keep track of where everybody is at. I need a program that sends out automated location updates while driver is on a load. MacroPoint can get pricey at $5/trip. I currently use CourierExchange. It's a wonderful idea but it is not reliable...
