Thanks, still around reading posts here and there and doing my courier thing in my 2019 Prius with 185,000 on it already. Still running like it did when I bought it new with 23 miles on it in June '19. Them Japanese really know their stuff ;-)
Hoping all at EO Happy Holidays and a profitable 2021
DC / N. VA / Baltimore
To drive the 56 miles from my office in N. VA to Home (Baltimore) during most evening rush hours (3PM - 8PM) about 2 1/2 hours. One of the main reasons I only work at night.
I'm based (live in Baltimore) here and hate driving in the DC/NOVA/BALT area. Road rage is the worst I've ever seen anywhere. I guess people are kinda crazy around here o_O
The kid that lived downstairs from me thought I was an extraterrestrial so I named my wifi network the same just to mess with him when he would see his list of available wireless networks.
Ever thought about maybe working for a courier company as an IC? There is good and bad companies just like any transportation business. I've managed to make a pretty good living in the 15 years I have been a courier in the DC/NOVA/Baltimore areas. Less stringent insurance requirements and...
A lot of people hauling pizzas too that if you look at the tiny writing in their insurance policies, I'm sure say it is not allowed. I have the insurance that the companies I contract for require me to have.
I hate too even think about the average Uber driver and how many of them are...
Thank you, that's exactly what I was trying to say. Since I just work for a couple of courier companies, I don't have any markings or commercial plates on my Promaster. I still keep a close eye on clearance signs though.
Nothing to get busted for....not a commercial vehicle. I see 'unmarked Sprinters' on the Belt all the time and know a few of the local NYC couriers that drive them. Same thing on the GW Pkwy in VA/DC.
As weird as it may sound, I'd much rather drive in NYC rush hour traffic than Northern VA where I am based. I truly believe we have the worst drivers in the country but everybody probably says that about their city.
