The Trump Card...

More people in the Ohio Republican primary voted for other candidates than did for J.D. Vance.

Remains to be seen whether he can prevail in the General.

Upcoming SCOTUS decisions may factor into that as well.

As far as Don Cheetolini's influence goes, it is vastly overrated:

A South Philly GOP ward leader has been ousted over ‘ballot harvesting’ concerns

"... precludes Lanzilotti from holding any Republican Party office in the city in the future"

:tearsofjoy:
I thought someone said he was “toast”. And he wouldn’t make the general.

That's often the case in any race where there are three or more candidates on the ballot. The fact that someone was not elected by the majority in a primary has little predictive value for the candidate of the other major party or for a viable third-party or independent candidate. After the primaries have winnowed the field, the dynamics of the general election take shape with many factors being important. But the fact that someone did not win a primary with a majority vote means little. Other factors mean more.

You speak with great confidence, no source, and questionable accuracy.

George Floyd was not shot. He was killed by police. There is a difference between a police shooting and police killing but for the dead person, the result is the same and the police caused the death.

Number of police killings by year: (Source)
808D00AB-E880-48EE-A93C-E99563FF87C8.jpeg
2019 634
2018 425
2017 218
2016 853
2015 636

In the five years shown, the number of police killings INCREASED in each of the most-recent three years. With such numbers, it's hard to make the case that police killings declined well before the Floyd murder.

You may be aware of some statistics out there that emphasize police shootings instead of police killings, but if we are going to talk about police behavior and have a debate about systemic racism, the distinction between fatal shootings and killings is a distinction without a difference.
Police shootings resulting in death are the most prevalent cause. Other means attributed to officers like the George Floyd incident are relatively rare. The vast amount is done by a firearm . Of the killings that make up the most controversy are the incidents involving the person being unarmed.
Since 2015 the amount of unarmed shootings that resulted in death went from around 35 to about 9 in 2019

It’s not indicative of a systemic problem.
Keep in mind also that Police officers don’t have the luxury of patrolling just gated communities, they have to also work the areas where there is the most danger, which is high crime areas:

And the more likelihood they will encounter a crime involving the perpetrator having a weapon:

Yet, statistically white officers are less likely to shoot a black person than other officers from different races:

Again, not indicative of systemic racism in policing.

The “news” media doesn’t just cover the protests they amplify and inflame any incident regarding a white officer and a minority. They identify the race of the officer and the shooting victim. But incidents involving the same race don’t get much national coverage, if at all. It gives the perception that there is a systemically racist problem. The FBI statistics don’t show that though. And there has been a significant decrease in shooting deaths well before the Floyd incident. Btw, is there any evidence that the officer was racist in that case? It is just assumed, without evidence, that he was.
Most of the time, when a cop makes a mistake and screws up. It’s mainly do to the stress of the moment. Some are just incompetent and shouldn’t be police officers, but deeming an officer a racist because he is white and the incident involved a minority is wrong without evidence.
There is a flip side to this that leaves me reluctant to accept any police department report at face value. All large police departments have PR offices, staffed by highly skilled presenters, the purpose of which is to cast the officers and department in the best possible light. It is far to common to find departments outright lying about what actually happened and why. This is where a free press is beneficial. It's a check against government authority that might otherwise go unchecked.

Example from this source:

"The original press release from the Minneapolis Police Department about George Floyd’s murder was a lie.

"By the police account, the murder was not even an act of killing. Under the title “Man Dies After Medical Incident During Police Interaction,” the release claimed that Floyd had resisted arrest and then suffered “medical distress” after being cuffed. That is a drastically reduced description of what actually occurred when Derek Chauvin murdered Floyd."

That statement may very well be true. Until the political winds took over.
The medical examiner changed his preliminary report after being threatened.
I keep hearing about the opium epidemic and how lethal Fentanyl is, then when someone has four times the lethal dose in his system, (along with other drugs) it played no role in his death.
Also, there were 2 other officers on his back holding him down. One happened to be black. So if one thinks Derek Chauvin murdered Floyd, the other two did as well.
But most don’t know their names.

Again, not indicative of systemic racism in policing.
When George Floyd was murdered I had a black employee who was a large, strong, confident and competent man. He was my personal fitness trainer and we had become good friends as well. On that day, he went to pieces. The Floyd murder by police brought to the surface the stress he has been carrying around his entire life being a black man in a systemic racist America.

I would not have said such a thing before that murder and my friend's surprising display of distress that he had until then kept under wraps. His reaction surprised me and I looked deeper to learn more about why my friend, was so distressed.

I spoke at length with him, some of our black gym members, and a black colleague that serves with me on our Chamber of Commerce board. I also spoke at length and in depth with several black gym owners and staff members in a series of zoom meetings that had been set up by our corporate headquarters for that purpose. I spoke with our city police chief about this. I read with great interest what our county sheriff had to say about this, and also the wife of one of our city council members. Those two white people (as right-wing and conservative as they come) have an adopted black son. This mother spoke with moving clarity about the fears she has regarding her son as he moves about in a community where her family is among the political and social elite. Additionally, I have read one book on the topic, read/viewed several articles and videos recommended to me by the people I spoke with.

That does not make me an expert by any means. I could dedicate a lifetime to studying this topic. I don't because our business is our primary purpose in life. But after doing that research and having those conversations, I had taken in enough to make up my mind. The George Floyd murder and its aftermath opened my eyes to systemic racism that I was previously and literally blind to before.

Systemic racism in policing is real. Systemic racism in America is real. And the longer we let it go unacknowledged as real, the more hindered and hateful our country will be.

The George Floyd murder shocked me. The self-initiated education that followed transformed me. As a business owner and leader in our community, I take every opportunity I can to do what I can to expose and eliminate systemic racism when seen, and even more so where it exists and is not seen.

The problem is people high on drugs do not surrender.....they fight and get put down harder than someone not on drugs....my sister was a cop and she quit because it was harder on her mental and physically to deal with the high strung put dope heads than go work in a casino in las Vegas.

It is a never ending battle ....criminals who are killed resisting arrest become heroes and sometimes their families are rewarded millions of dollars, thus keeping the riots down to a dull roar...crime does pay, the money goes to the deceased criminal mom and dad,,,,seems that way imho

Funny that it's a Democrat producing the charges against her opponent.....
If it was such a secure election why block any forensic audit? I mean if was truly fair and secure then you wouldn't block anyone from double checking the vote.

There is no evidence of Democratic fraud.
Here is proof of Republican fraud.

And yet the Democrats are trying so hard to block any forensic audit.....if nothing to hide why try so hard to block a audit?which we have a legitimate and legal right to check the votes.....unless this a dictatorship now.

I was wondering how long it would take before that was brought up. I have not watched it yet, but I will. I think they do have a valid point in that those people who did that broke the law and should be charged, however that does not change the outcome of the election, lets face it, some of those votes were for Trump.

And yet if they flooded the votes to help Biden it may well turn the tide back in trumps favor.....and would prove him right that the election was stolen from him....but the Democrats keep blocking any forensic audit with lawsuits and other means.....I mean really if it was so fair and secure why block any forensic audit.
