OOIDA Insurance ?

I don't want to start a debate over the good or bad of OOIDA as an organization.

I'm curious to hear of experiences of anyone using OOIDA Insurance. Good or bad.

Edit: I at this time have no reason to leave Progressive or CIS.
This is research for a friend.

Me too. That's why I'm with them.
It doesn't help my friend.

I believe that you will find them to be more expensive in a lot of cases if not all because I believe they use Lloyd's of London as the actual insurance company. My brother is currently using OOIDA insurance and I wouldn't say it is awful but just not as good as CIS.

The World Famous Pugsly, truck hauler turned Trailer Transit driver, was parked at the rear of a space w/o a trailer..

Some moron, parked on Pugsly's driver side, went to pull out and hooked his tractor. Determined to flee, the moron pulled Pugsly's tractor pretty far , finally ramming it into the unit on his right side.

He had quite a bit of damage. OOIDA wanted to use knock-off parts and he thought the shop they were using was sub-par.

He ending up taking a check, which he felt was a partial settlement, and went to a place he felt did a better repair.
He paid the difference. And switched insurance companies.

We had them for a couple of years and switched to CIS ( is cheaper than ooida) we changed when we switched carriers and new carrier wouldn't accept ooidas insurance.

Was Landstar the carrier? We were using Landstar as a broker regularly but when OOIDA sued Landstar it put a stop to that for awhile.

CIS is excellent to work with. They are experts in expediting insurance, not just insurance and not even just trucking insurance. They are expediting specialists. They are also friendly, courteous and always helpful. In rare cases someone will find a less expensive option but that's not very common or likely. What you'll never find is a better bunch of people to work with.

I liked CIS when I was with them and the thing with CIS is they do specialize in expediting. Although I don't miss Progressive jacking my rates every year in return for years as a claim free customer, I would still consider switching back to CIS when my customers require only industry standard coverage.

No specific feedback Zorry other than to advise that OOIDA wouldn't cover my straight truck expediter

Thanks, he's in a TT and is comparing quotes. Asked me if I knew anything good/bad.

I was insured with them in 2001.

I knew they would not FINANCE an expeditor. I didn't know they would not insure one.
