These people are so concerned with the amount of time it will take to ask 1 simple question but I guess they have never seen the line of trucks being forced to show their papers trying to get into AZ.

Ariz. immigration law opponents file new offensive

what he said: ROFL, it is funny.. horribly funny just how much this law gets both liberals and conservatives panties in a bunch. As Shakespeare once said, it is "much ado about nothing". Really, people, before this law was EVER put on the books.. The police stop you for ANYTHING, what do they ask for? Identification.. doesn't matter the race, or legal status, or who you are.. that is always the first thing they ask for. If you can't produce it, you get taken in, if the offense is something they want to take you in for. State issued Drivers license or ID card is by FAR the most common form of identification the VAST majority of citizens have.. and almost always have on their person. Anyone who doest have one on them, runs the risk of being detained. This law didn't need to be written for that to happen. The bottom line, in Arizona (or anywhere else in the whole country), if you get stopped by an officer, they will ask for identification. If you don't produce it, you may or may not be detained (depends completely on the officer in most cases). Once detained, if it is determined you don't have ID, and/or are in the US illegally, you may be deported. Really, people, think about it.. did this law REALLY change anything? Nope.
