Oh but they are. Mark my word. Talk to me in about a year or too. You will agree with them but I won't. As to the baby killer thing. Did you read what I said or do you just react? I said that voting to allow LIVE BORN BABIES to just die on a table with out care is baby killing or infantacide which is a more accurate term. Osama did at least twice. By the way, in case no one knows it, Planned Parenthood was started in Nazi Germany and was soundly supported by Hitler. Just a fact. Might not mean anything. Layoutshooter

Relax and enjoy......whatever your interest. No one's lining up to deny your freedom

You gotta be kidding right ?

Where you been the last 8 years ? The last 50 ?

I don't think it really makes any difference whether a Democrat or Republican was elected, the two party system has been doing nothing but delivering less freedom for the American people for the last 100 years .....

The solution doesn't lie on either side ..... if, in the future, it ever occurs, it will be thru a third way ....

It's interesting ...... I'm sitting watching election coverage on Fox ...... and there is no mention whatsoever of any 3rd party candidates ....

Where is the election coverage on Bob Barr, Nader, the Constitution Party candidate, or even Cynthia McKinney or Kucinich (gotta have some humor afterall) ...... ?

I dunno ..... call me funny ..... I guess I'd just like smorgass board to pick from ...... rather than just a single choice from either the officially-sanctioned column A ...... or column B .....

Give me a break. If you come from a family of deer hunters they have either a 12ga slug gun or any number of high power deer rifles. Just normal stuff. Like a 30.30, or 30.06 or .308 or .243 nothing exotic. All will pass through a bullet proof vest. Check with them and see what they may own. I won't sell or "lose" anything. I will still have them until some scumbag takes them from me. Hillary's list includes ANY rifle that will do what the above will do. I can't make this stuff up. I am not that dumb. Layoutshooter

I will not go into the types of guns my family members or friends have but I will tell you one thing, they do not need a semi auto to kill anything!!

I use a semi-auto shotgun because it has less percieved recoil than a pump. I have very bad shoulders. I like it. It cost me a lot of money. I do not use it to commit crimes. I use it to hunt ducks. I am limited for long outlawed resons, none of which are related to killing people, to 3 shots. If your from PA your family uses one or all of the calibers I wrote about for deer. They are not allowed semi-auto rifles or shot guns for deer but can use semi-auto .22's and shotguns for small game. I have hunted in PA for over 40 years and will be there on the Monday after Thanksgiving. With my 30.06. Michigan is a bit different but not much. We can use semi-auto's for deer. Everything else is pretty much the same as PA. Layoutshooter

Are12, add .270, 7mm mag. .300 to the list. Anyway, on the Openning of the "High Holy Days" (PA deer season) I will be "UP the Mountian". Otherwise known as Mount Davis in Somerset County. It is the high piont in Pennsylvania. I will be up the same tree that I have been hunting from since 1988. I love tradition. Layoutshooter

Thib, post 13 sounds like someone talking about the love of their life. Obama may not be the lowest scum on the planet but he certainly doesn't walk on water as your glowing, almost reverential comments suggest either. If he is unchecked and if he gets all he wants he will be the biggest threat and disaster our nation has ever seen.

are12, someone needs a semi-auto because that's their choice. My Constitution grants me the right to keep and bear arms, not the privilege the right. It doesn't tell me certain arms, just arms. It's my choice what to have or not have. We don't have a gun problem, we have a liberals problem. If the use of a weapon, not a gun a weapon, during the commission of a felony was automatic capital punishment with no other option as it should be we wouldn't have much weapons crime. Liberals can't do what's right so they legislate against objects and penalize the law abiding to assuage their conscience. It is a dire time for America, as much as 12/7 or 9/11.

As to my life not being impacted, it already has been in Michigan. In the election prior to this one Michigan voted to cancel a dove season that was passed by the legislature by about the same margine that Osama had last night. The same groups are now going after the Michigan archery deer season. A ban on fishing with LIVE bait is being talked about too. Layoutshootre

Having lived through some racially-charged times and events, I can't help but notice the profound change that is happening not in the White House or Washington but on the streets.

Today, millions of black Americans, many hundreds of thousands who embraced the system and voted for the first time in their lives, are waving not black-power fists in the air but American flags. They are talking not about oppression and discrimination but about about democracy and opportunity. They are not saying it just to the TV cameras. They are sitting down with their children and grandchildren and saying it to them.

Millions of black people praising democracy and waving American flags is an important development in American history. Those who were fond of blaming racism, the system, and "The Man" for their ills may have been right in the past, but will have a harder time doing so now that the American people have put a black man in the White House.

Our republic is now finished. Yes a black man was elected but a black marxist. Those who put him in must be willing to give up thier freedom. I see no good coming from this brave new world. Just slavery and oppression. Layoutshooter

A bit over the top, no? What would it take for you to recant?

If Obama's administration succeeds in restoring the top-bracket of the income tax to pre-9/11 levels, is that slavery?

If the Democrats successfully restore habeas corpus and re-outlaw warrant-less wiretaps, is that oppression?

Believe what you want. I don't care. I will never participate. I am just too old and stupid to understand anything. I learned nothing in my life. I did nothing and will continue to do nothing. In fact, you all can support me from now on. I done supporting bums and mal-contents. But I know nothing about history. Sooooo , play by yourselfs. I am done in here.

I agree with you. Don't forget if anyone says anything that
goes against him, we will be called racist.

I never fails to amaze me how some people will yell the loudest, "I am not a racist, it is not about race" Keep telling yourself that and someday you may convince the rest of us.

Most of the world is celebrating today because of what happened yesterday.

Anyone who thinks that our entire economy can be based on the war is mistaken. What will happen when these fine men and women come home and find out there is no jobs for them, what then?

The people have spoken at the polls. Now we must start thinking about gettting the ones in congress out in 2 more years.

Yes millions of black Americans voted yesterday but was there
something that stopped them from voting before. No, they didn't have a desire to vote for a white man but low and behold a black man runs for president and the whole black nation now wants to vote. Well I will be waiting on my free insurance and reduced taxes right along with the rest of black america. It was not about the principles Obama has, it was
about the color of his skin.. I pray to God that we don't all
pay for this mess we are in now.

How do you explain Iowa then? Very low african american population, and Obama took the state. Shame people can't see that he was the better man for the job. Well AMERICA voted, and he won. If you watched times square, and Chicago the crowds were mixed, white, young, black, hispanic, married couples with children, seniors. The republicans need to learn to be more inclusive, instead of exclusive. They ran a campaigne that focused on tearing down the competition, it did not resiginate with voters.
My family lives in Ashington, England and the calls i got from home were lovely, and excited! Obama and vice president Bidon have improved our standing on the worlds stage- and have yet to even take office.
I listened to MCCains speech after he lost, and I most say it was gracious, kind, and came across to me very sincere. Bravo John, wish I would have seen more of that side of you while you were campaigning, that would have been more tolerable, then the constant hate, and attacks.
I saw a movie a few years back "Remember the Titans" nobody wanted to work with the new coach, they tried to get rid of him by telling him if he lost 1 game they would fire him, the players would not work together as a team... and some how they came together, they formed a unbeatable team, and went on to lifelong friendships and victory.
I know it's just a really good movie (tear jerker)... but it was based on a true story!!!!!!

Vote white? Socialists come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. If the Republican party had a black conservative like Thomas Sowell running for President I'd vote for him. I dislike Obama's politics, not his color. As for me, I'm unhappy with the election out come, but America has spoken, and for 4 years this is the hand we have been dealt. All I can do now is pray for the USA and pray for Obama. I'll be clinging to my guns, my religion, and what little money I have; for the next 4 years.

As with all elections, the exit polls that explain who voted for who and why paint a patchwork-quilt picture.

In Florida, a majority of voters elected Obama AND banned gay marriage. The same happened in California. Yet in South Dakota, a majority of voters supported John McCain AND blocked an effort to tighten abortion restrictions. Sarah Palin, a white woman, is credited with driving more white-women votes away from McCain/Palin than she drew in.

A huge number of newly-registered black voters in Georgia was not enough to change the status quo. And a certain percentage of black voters voted for McCain. Now that the black president barrier has been broken, more blacks are likely to vote Republican because their views are more Republican than Democratic.

My point is simply that even in the same family there are political differences of opinion and different points of view. To one family member, gun control may be of vital importance. Another could care less about guns, one way or the other, but be deeply concerned about health care. Still another may have the economy in focus and little else.

In Minnesota in 1998, I remember political analyists wondering out loud about how hard it is to understand voters as a group. They marveled at the fact that the same voters had elected a conservative senator (Rod Grahms), a liberal senator (Paul Wellstone) and a third-party governor (Jesse Ventura). Together these three men represented probably 98% of the political spectrum, yet within a few years, the same voters put all three of them in office.

As with a family or a state, so to with America. It is unwise to paint it with a broad brush.
