Socialized medicine is a done deal

Listening to a radio interview yesterday, I heard former Senate majority leader, Bill Frist (R-TN), state very clearly that socialized medicine as envisioned by the liberal Democrats is a fait accompli. Frist says Harry Reid has the numbers to push Obamacare through to completion. Barring a popular uprising, socialized medicine will be codified into law in the next 30-60 days.

There is nothing to stop them. The Socialists have won.

Import enough CRIMINAL aliens, legitimize them with ACORN and other organizations then fraudulently count their votes and it's bound to happen.

That's what the gay marriage advocates thought, until California and Maine reversed the tide of "I want it, therefore I should have it" mentality. Congress will be forced to do the same thing with socialized health care. It won't be this Congress, so we'll have to put up with at least the first few steps of it, but it'll happen eventually.

I'm not sure we should take Frist's prediction as the final word. Of course we've known all along that if Reed keep all 60 Dems on board there's nothing the GOP can do to stop him. Even if he doesn't, the legislation could be brought up as an appropriations bill and passed by reconciliation (sometimes incorrectly called the "nuclear option"), which only requires 51 votes since it would then be considered a budgetary matter.

However, do the Dems really want to take that route - especially if the public continues to turn against this health care "reform" as they learn more about it? Many of them could very well be sacrificing their re-elections by passing the bill in this manner. If that turns out to be the way the process evolves, we can only hope that the GOP can take back the majority in congress by 2012 and repeal most, if not all of this disastrous legislation. Remember, it's not supposed to take effect until 2013 - they just want to start collecting taxes for it next year.

Which brings up another thought. How many of us think that this money, if collected early for two years would remain in some figurative lockbox until 2013? Considering the record deficits being run up by congress, the boy president, and his administration, I'd bet those available funds would be too tempting for the politicians to resist. They would be snagged for something else just as the Social Security funds were "borrowed" years ago, and by 2013 the only things left in the lockbox would be govt. IOUs. Then taxes would have to be raised even higher to cover this monstrous program that's in the red before it even starts.

Alaska too!! More water than Texas has!! :D

They will find a way to force this un-constitutional law on us one way or the other. They will also use ANY means possible to enforce it, legal or otherwise. The DICTATOR WILL RULE!! Hope they are ready for a fight.

The province of Quebec has had a strong Separatist movement. If a legal avenue existed for states to withdraw from the Union, I would have no problem with such a move... so long as it was LEGAL. And peaceful. I fear our Union is held together at gunpoint. Federal gunpoint. What differentiates our governmental behemoth from China or the old Soviet Union?

We are moving quickly down the road to becoming the United Soviet Socialist States of North America. As to legal, I only have to be as legal as those who would overthrow our Constitution. Once that act occurs all bets are off. Using FORCE of ANY kind, including fines, to require a PRIVATE CITIZEN to purchase ANY product by the Federal Government is UN-Constitutional. There will be many who REFUSE to participate in the illegal health system, REFUSE to pay the fines and will resist arrest with ANY means possible. You the THEN see how Leftist governments FORCE the slavery that THEY call "FREEDOM".

There is no doubt civil disobedience is coming to a corner near you. This time, it will be formerly passive people who seek to rein in a thuggish government. This rush toward socialism is unacceptable to a free people. Socialism inevitably leads to totalitarianism. How can this be happening here?

It would be refreshing to see some of our western or southern states begin to assert themselves by balking at these new mandates emanating from Washington, DC. Conservatives can use the courts just as well as the liberals... independent-minded states with strong governors could pursue a scorched-earth policy with "litigation from Hell" that challenges the constitutionality of these overbearing and overreaching mandates. We have a friendly Supreme Court, at the moment, with Chief Justice John Roberts presiding.

Does anyone think the Socialists will be satisfied with nationalizing healthcare only? NO. They will be unbelievably emboldened and immediately set their eyes upon remaining parts of our so-called freedom.

No, they will NOT be happen until they have TOTAL control over the Sheeple. So many are falling for their lies. I guess it's ok if they want to live as kept subjects but why must they use FORCE to insure that those of use who DON'T want to live like that join their perverted party?

I think a few are going overboard with thoughts here. The country will not be the United Soviet Socialist States of America but merely the United Socialist States of America as the Russians own the Soviet part and not enough of them have moved there to make it Russian.

Next we all know that to some degree the health care system needed some type of overhaul and updating as well as cost controls. Now will a public option do this? Well not necessarily on its own but with some careful and well thought out measures that have to come, costs can be limited or controlled. No not the ones really restricting your care options but ones like other countries have done like here where drugs cost less than the US (just think how much that would help a lot of people). There are over 40 million people in the US without health care insurance as it has become too expensive. Even eliminating the ones who would find it hard to qualify for almost all policies, you are still left with over 30 million. These people need some kind of health care access. So yes a public option has been the one option the govt has looked at (mostly the Dems) as they see it in other countries and it kinda works. So now the US is on the road to a few more govt (or as some want to say Socialist) options for the poor and others with limited options. Something had to give sometime, and well now seems to be the time. Good or bad and unfortunately a public system demands hordes of bucks to operate and there will be fraud (any surprise there?) and so the big unfortunate part is nearly everyone will have to donate to it (albeit forcibly but donate you must).

Having a few socialist programs from the fed doesn't mean you're on the road to a totalitarian state. It just means you're going to be more like the Scandinavians who pay a crap load more taxes. While freedom seems to be under attack it really is one very small area and most governments in the future will not go too far as they know you the people will not like it. Canada came close with Trudeau in power and he was very friendly with the Russians, Chinese and Cubans (Fidel attended his funeral). But he never really pushed the envelope towards totalitarianism as those other countries had.

So cheer up and look forward to your NEW GOVERNMENT MANDATED PUBLIC HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, coming to a doctor and hospital near you.

As I stated in another post, a 6 page bill is reform, 2078 pages is a Government takeover.

Don't compare this country to Europe they have NO history of freedom. They have been controlled for their entire history. This King, that Czar etc etc etc. They do as they are told over there.

As to drug prices, how many of those so-called CHEAPER DRUGS are new not off patent drugs? How many are generics? AS to how OUR government will make them cheaper, don't believe it. I have already switched one of my perscrictions AWAY from the VA. Why? It is cheaper at Wally World.

IF this was such a great program why must it be implimented by FORCE? IF it were going to be so great people would flock to it. If it were soooo good they would just inact it, allow the people to see just how great it is and then the people would just join. The use of FORCE proves that it is NOT a good thing.

NO government, including this one, can be trusted with such massive power. The power to control health care. This is a leftist government and leftist governments have a LONG history of murder, deceit and control by terror.

It CAN happen here as well as any other place on this earth.

This is only the start. Once they take over they will use that power to control every asspect of your lives.

YOU can accept this slavery and control, I how ever will not.

Well, using the term you coined, "King Putz", I think it is rather self explainatory...
