Are Expediters becoming extinct?

Thank Gawd that we never reproduced. The world is a scary place and this country is headed down a very bad road.

The business has been good for us. We have had several good weeks lately. (until the van broke) going back out tomorrow. I think the reason we are doing okay is we are taking runs to New York, Florida, Cali and Nevada if needed, etc… Places most expediters won't go. And we hit the agents up for "a few dollars more" trying to earn that "fist full of dollars" and they can call me "good, bad and ugly" if they want to. As long as the checks don't bounce. For the folks that won't go West of the mississippi, South of I-40 and East of Ohio, there is just so many loads and way too many vehicles. As fuel prices rise and the rates spiral down, it does seem dim. But you can always say no to cheap freight. The next call may be the one.

Extinct? Maybe some day but for now just an "old, fat, ugly, van driver" surviving on tuna fish sandwiches and sun flower seeds.
