Sinking Fast-Need Advice Desperately! Glen Rice, T

RE: Sinking Fast-Need Advice Desperately! Glen Ric I have only had a few runs also. The company I am leased to, also has semi truck brokers, so I am going to drive for one of them, until the van freight picks back up. If it doesn't right away, then the van can sit. Also this gives the guys...

    Dock high?

I heard from our dispatcher, that Ford Motor Co., has several plants, stating that they no longer will have cargo vans haul into these plants. The only trucks allowed in will have to be dock high. Has anyone heard about this happening?

    Trucks-Mileage-How many miles is too much ? ? ?

RE: Trucks-Mileage-How many miles is too much ? ? We had a FL80 with a Cat engine. 250hp I believe. It still had 400,000 when we traded it in for a newer KW W900, to haul the race cars. FL80 was a conversion motorhome, and pulled a 32 foot stacker trailer, hauling two ARCA cars. The whole thing...

Winter time in my Cargo Van

I wrote to Espar, awhile back. I noted that I had a gas powered Chevy van, and the person who wrote back to me, stated they had only dealt with diesel engined vehicles. I even mentioned adding a seperate tank, to fill with diesel, to operate the heater, and they made no comment of that...

    ALL TYPES

Stewart, won't return any of my calls either, and they only owe me $50. I sent them $95 for the drug screen, and decided to hire on with another carrier. I never went to get the test done. I called them, and they told me they would return my money. Well I got a check in the mail, and it was for...

Winter time in my Cargo Van

I did see one of those heaters before, but did not know how safe it was. I am glad that you told me about this. I will go and pick up one of these heaters. I don't have a bulkhead, other than a shower curtain, behind my camping fold up bed, behind the seats. Maybe I sat it in the middle of the...

Winter time in my Cargo Van

Does anyone know of a good way to stay warm in my gas powered cargo van? I am not sure if I should leave my van running, while I sleep, since the threat of carbon monoxide. My exhaust system has no leaks, but should I really trust that? Does anyone have any ideas, like water heaters, or inside...

    The last 6 months

I just started about three months ago. I have a Chevrolet 3500 1 ton extended cargo van. Runs started out really good, for the first few weeks, but for the past three weeks, it is hit, and miss. Is everyone suffering like this, or should I change carriers? I like the carrier, I work for, but...

    Warning.

I would like to warn other expeditors of a situation that happened to me. I was going to lease on with a carrier, out of Ft. Wayne, IN, and had to pay them $95 up front for the drug test. A bit high, I thought, but wanted to get started doing something. Then another company, wanted me to join...

What companies lease on pickup trucks?

I have a 2001 Dodge 3/4 ton, long box, quad cab truck. Two wheel drive. GVW 8800. I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies leasing on this type of truck?

    Pickup vs Cargo Van

After looking over the GVWs of the vans, and pickups, I have ruled out the pickups. I appreciate all the comments, even the bad ones. There is always two sides to every story. I am just looking into it, and don't have to do it. I have been driving, and owning 18 wheelers for the past 24 years...

    Pickup vs Cargo Van

I was wondering if anyone has experienced either of the two, as far as expediting goes? I have heard that some people use the shorter cargo vans, and bungee strap a mattress to the inside wall, while loaded, then take it down, if empty, to sleep in the back. Heard some people taking an extended...
