Expert Expediter
Is anyone in this forum operating under their own authority and not leased with an expediting company? What is the procedure? Is it expensive? Or is it in my best interest to lease on first as a newbie?

The Cost is about $1,000 to start. Renew is about 150-300 depending on states you want yo haul in or through. The Insurance is the most costly part you will need an insurance carrier that will file with the PUCO, you will need cargo insurance, Liability Insurance. Then you can start hauling. I would suggest you lease on with some one for awhile to make sure you lik this type of work.
