what type of costs involved

what type of fees can i expect to pay ? qualcom who pays ? what is escrow account ? workmans comp.? is it required if self employed ? who has affordable health & dental ins.? we plan on driving for owner 1-2yr b4 getting own truck.will probably do 40/60 split owner pays fuel etc...does flying j still give free showers with $50.00 fuel purchase?can u still link cards ?do they, or any others allow h/w to share shower ? i mainly used fling j when i was otr driver co.had us get our fuel there. ihave used loves, t/a, road ranger,pilot etc...but its been 2yrs.thanks

Wow, that's a lot of questions! Reading back through past posts on the forum will provide you with a wealth of information. You can probably find answers to each one of your questions just by searching and researching the forums.

You can get free showers for 50 gallons of fuel and yes, all the truck stops that we have gone to have allowed me and my husband to take a shower at the same time, using the same shower. It is nice because it allows each of us to shower but only uses 1 shower credit.

We drive for an owner, he pays QC fees and deducts workmans comp insurance from our pay each week. An escrow account is an amount that the owner holds to cover repairs on the truck in case of an accident, major breakdown, etc.

still confused about escrow? we end up paying for truck repairs?wouldnt ins.pay for an accident?

escrow is for many different reasons.If you have cargo damage and quit for instance ,yes insurance pays, but there is a deductable that you are responsable for.as far as truck repairs in an accident,there is still the deductable.
