Warning (Check fuel tank)

Warning to all Owners and Drivers. If you have an older truck with a Fuel tank under the steps, and a Front fender Mud Flap. (Check for Wear). I could'nt believe it when my tank started to leak, and then found out that the Mud Flap had worn a Hole into the tank. it's in the shop now being repaired.

Not sure what you could do to prevent it. Maybe a tank cover. My truck is a 1999 with 401K on it. Hope your's is OK...Butch

Hi Butch talked with dealer don't know of anyti sail bracket for front flap. Maybe take heavy flat stock, shape of capitol,I, fasten behind top of flap and long enough to reach bottom bolt there also with large flat washers, not to pull through. Diesel Doctor will probably have solution.
Invent somthing and patent it??
