Canada WANT TO START A BUSINESS

Hello I am interested in starting a trucking business but not sure who to go to. What I want to do is purchase 10 trucks, and get work for them from a company and set up drivers. Basically like an entrepeneur or president.

Is this possible? I live in Toronto,Canada and I did visit Kennedy Transportation in Missassauga as they said they can do this, but then 2 people on this forum saying not to use them, no details why but just bad experience.

Can you please list some companies which I can approach with my trucks and drivers?

Being on this forum I assume you want to expedite. Not too easy in the Toronto area. There are too many companies competing for the same loads. It can be done. I can't see any of the expedite companies taking on a fleet so you may have to place a few with each company and have a larger ppw and admin system.
Idea... have you thought about approaching companies like Weber Supply or Windsor supply and do their runs for them out of the main branch?? This uses vans for local calls and for some rush out of towns and also you can with the straights run to the branches (daily or weekly) out of town with their orders. Basically you replace their company trucks with your fleet (have spares available or access to rentals). They have no payroll or taxes for drivers and no insurance to worry about and pay your bill which is 100% write off. Just a thought. We do this sort of thing for another industrial supplier which gives some drivers an ok day rather than sitting waiting for a load.
