Seasoned Expediter
As luck would have it, we were passing through Las Vegas just in time for the tail end of the Great Western Truck Show at the Hilton Convention Center. So, we stopped (of course). It was good getting out of the truck and getting a little exercise, but the show itself was not really set up for the expediting end of the business, so we were a little disappointed.
We are, however, hoping for a load back east toward Wilmington, OH this weekend for the Expediting show. Hope to see some of you there!
But, back to Vegas . . . we found it easily accessible for trucks (especially if you park in the wee hours of the morning). We got up early and parked behind Circus Circus and had full access to the Strip. There is an access road (Industrial Drive) behind the west side of the Strip where many of the casinos have access to their parking lots. So, if you're ever passing through Vegas - don't hesitate to stop and test your luck. At one point we were up $600+ but left having breakfast paid for and an extra $10 in our pockets. It wasn't the money, it was the good time we were looking for - and so we got what we were looking for!
