They (Dems, Biden, and many Republicans other than MAGA) don't want to "fix" it because they don't view it as much of a problem. They want more of it. They've stated as much: "It's good for business" and "it's a good thing" to have a different majority.

While citizens of NYC, Chicago and other sanctuary cities complain about Gov Abbott sending busloads of illegal aliens for them to provide "sanctuary", the Biden Administration sent 320K illegals to 43 undisclosed locations by the planeload during 2023. These flights originated in foreign countries, bypassing having to cross the border. This is something to consider while listening to Democrats fret about losing our country if Trump gets elected.
