tax write offs

Hey Frank,I've heared that we can use groceries we buy for the truck as a write off as long as you buy them out of state and 250 miles from our home.Also that we can write off the movies and books we buy to use on the truck is there any truth to this? Thanks for any infor you can give us.

Your question are as follows.

1. I've heared that we can use groceries we buy for the truck as a write off as long as you buy them out of state and 250 miles from our home.

{A} As far as groceries the per diem that you reiceve for being on the road covers all food no matter weather it is purchased as groceries. or as prepared food at resturants. Plus it does not matter where the groceries are purchased.

2. Also that we can write off the movies and books we buy to use on the truck is there any truth to this?

{A} Yes, these are deductiable but not at the full cost. these have to be listed on Part V as other entertainment and you can only take 50% of the total of your cost.
