Survey I'm doing for a research paper in college

All questions are yes or no answer.
1. Do you feel the death penalty in general is cruel and
unusual punishment?
2. Do you feel that lethal injection, based on your current
knowledge, is inhumane?
3. Do you think there should be stays of execution in place
while this is investigated?

Given a list of crimes answer yes if you think it warrants
the death penalty or no if you think it doesnâ€™t warrant
the death penalty.

1. Murder-
2. Child Molestation-
3. Rape-
4. Arson-
5. Fleeing from Police-
6. Forgery-
7. Vehicular manslaughter-
8. Cruelty to Animals-
9. Kidnapping-
10. 3 strikes (committed at least 1 felony on 3 separate
occasions)-

Even though the questions are yes or no answer further comments are welcome on the bottom and can be worked into the paper. I'm hoping to get various views on the subject. So the more the better.

No to each of the above.

The maybes would depend on the circumstances and in at least some cases would warrant the death penalty.

NO to above questions

1. Murder- YES
2. Child Molestation- Maybe
3. Rape- Maybe
4. Arson- Maybe
5. Fleeing from Police- NO

10. 3 strikes (committed at least 1 felony on 3 separate

#2-#3-#4-#7-#9 Depends on the circumstance and whether
Death or Torture were involved.

Personally, I belive in an eye for an eye.. a person that
kills another should be killed exactly like his/her victem.
If that would happen, you would see a dramatic decrease
in crime.

No to all of the above.

1. Murder- yes

2. Child Molestation- no but males should be castrated and females, since they cannot be castrated, should have one of their hands removed. (that's the best I can come up with on such short notice)

3. Rape- no but I think the same answer for question 2 should apply.

4. Arson- it would depend on the circumstances

5. Fleeing from Police- no

6. Forgery- no

7. Vehicular manslaughter- it would depend on the circumstances. With this one,(and I am sure I will get some slack for this) I don't feel everyone deserves jail time either. I will use an example from our hometown: there are 2 boys that knew each other since they were born (there parents are best friends), the boys are inseparable, they both turn 21 within a few weeks of each other and decide they are going to go out and party. They are in a horrible accident and one dies and one looses his best friend. Both families are grieving, both are torn apart. The young man that lives, has to live with the fact that he has killed his best friend. What will putting him in jail do?

8. Cruelty to Animals- no but I think they should pay higher fines

9. Kidnapping- it would depend on the circumstances

10. 3 strikes (committed at least 1 felony on 3 separate
occasions)- it would depend on what types of felonies were committed. For instance, substance abuse or burglary, I don't think someone should be put to death for that.
