Strawberry cake

Do any of you have a good recipe for homemade strawberry cake with homemade strawberry frosting? My grandma used to make one that would melt in your mouth. I have a hankering for some but have no recipe.

Here is Paula Deen's Strawberry Cake Recipe. It doesn't use gelatin and calls for more strawberries. It sounds good!

Ingredients

* 1 cup butter
* 1 3/4 cup sugar
* 5 egg whites
* 2 teaspoon strawberry extract
* 2 cups pureed fresh strawberries
* 1/2 cup sour cream
* 3 cups cake flour
* 1 tablespoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting:
* 1/4 cup butter-softened
* 1 8oz package cream cheese-softened
* 1/4 cup pureed fresh strawberries
* 1/2 teaspoon strawberry extract
* 6 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Grease and flour three 9" cake pans.
3. In a large mixing bowl,beat sugar and butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy.
4. Add strawberry extract,pureed strawberries,and sour cream. Beat until combined.
5. In a medium mixing bowl,sift together flour,baking powder,soda,and salt.
6. Gradually add to butter mixture,beating until combined.
7. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into batter.
8. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans.
9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
10. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes then turn out onto wire racks.
11. Cool completely.
12. Frosting:
13. In a large bowl,beat butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer at medium speed until smooth.
14. Add pureed strawberries and strawberry extract beating until combined.
15. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until smooth.
16. Frost cake.
17. Garnish with fresh sliced strawberries if desired.

and a cup at that! That's a lot of butter so you know that her strawberry cake is good for you! LOL!

OMG.............all those recipes sound sooooooooo good that I can't decide which one to try SO I guess I'm just going to have to make them all then taste test them. :)
Darn...there goes all that weight I lost!
