I've already spent a couple of years contracting out to a small company in Dallas doing courier work in my own vehicles (VW Golf TDI and Chevy Astro van). I did both hotshot and regular route work and drove an average of 400-450 miles/day loving every minute of it. No CDL at the moment, but I've been accident free since 1980.
I'm thinking of getting a Sprinter and doing more long-distance stuff, but was wondering what companies have lots of loads going in and out of Texas, and DFW in particular. I don't want to do alot of deadheading. I would also like to avoid the whole logging and weigh station routine. I've already been to the Express 1 site, and it looks good, but I'm not sure how much work they do out of Texas. Would I be kept busy? Looking for other options and opinions as well.
